can anyone with the new Numeric shifter comment on differences good or bad vs. a Rennshift or WEVO setup?

Took another drive, this shifter and coupler combination is dialed in perfection. I haven’t tried the Wevo or the rennshift. I do not see or feel that there is any room for improvements over this and for the price I don’t think there is any comparison.

Well said, this is also what I have been waiting to discover.

With a more cylindrical/stock-appearing stick, I think the adopters will increase considerably.

If it looked stock I’d be in for one ASAP. No disrespect but I really don’t like the look of the shifter rod- I prefer a simple round one like on he 915 shifter.

Awesome review! Glad to hear it.

Also, we have been considering making a round shift lever. Give us a few months and we may have one ready!

My shifter and pedals will be arriving tomorrow for the 1978 SC. Review and pics to come!

For your next product, you should consider doing a shifter for the G-50 :).

Paul, did you go with the 2mm or 2.5mm springs? I intend to order the shifter on the coming weeks and can't decide which one would be best.

I am very seriously considering ordering one of your shifters but would much rather have a round shaft. If you want to work together on this, I'd be willing to be the guinea pig or beta tester. ;-)

I have the Numeric and Rennshift. I have found the Numeric to have a tighter and more precise feel and I really like the adjustable reverse lockout, works great. On the Rennshift I do prefer the 20% throw reduction, it just requires a bit less effort to engage gears.

Here is a video of our Knob and Extension piece coming soon!

Overall, I am very impressed with the design of the shifter. The 40% throw reduction as the only option is my only gripe and the reason I would not buy one of these. My use is for racing only and a 40% throw reduction exacerbates a problem that is already difficult to manage in the heat of battle with my Rennshift with a 20% throw reduction. That problem is shifting the 915 too quickly.

Come out with a 20% throw reduction option and my interest level changes dramatically.

Yes, we listened to the concerns of the throws being too tight for everyone's preference. It never is a one size fits all. That is why we came out with the extension, if someone wants just a little less force required for it to be put into gear, then use our 1/2" extension. If you want it to be at a 20% throw reduction, then our 2" extension is perfect and will do just that. The ONLY downside to our extension is that it brings it closer to the driver, which for many is actually another upside! Also, we will be posting the mounting dimensions of our extension for the ones that don't love our style shift knob. No problem, we won't charge a crazy amount for just the extension either as we want our customers to love using our shifter and want them to have it exactly how they want it. So our possible throw reductions are 40%, 35% or 20% (these are rounded as the actual is in decimals).

My Rennshift lever and aftermarket wood knob sit at 15" from the metal shift tunnel to the top of the knob. How does that relate to your shift level with 2" extension and knob?

Does that mean I would need your shifter to be at 17" to match what I have now?

Our shifter with the 2" extension is just over 15" tall and 4.7" towards the driver from the center of the shifter. Please see the attached picture for reference. This is also with our shift knob. So, our shifter is at the same height with the same throw reduction as the Rennshift. But ours is much more precise, ask anyone that has one (don't take it just from us).

I had the Wevo and now have the Numeric Shifter with the 2.5 spring. First, I had some issues dialing the coupler in and Vlad was a huge help in getting that figured out. Second, it's got a lot less lateral movement in gear than the Wevo. Both have the same fore/aft give as that's more to do with the transmission than the shifter (side note, I wish someone would fabricate a good bushing for the 930 where the shift rod meets the cup under the shifter to eliminate the rest of the slop). The shift is extremely precise and getting from the 1/2 plane to the 3/4 plane takes some getting used to since it's significantly less motion, but it's hard to argue against how smooth and precise it is. I'm waiting to try the extension and shift knob as getting into reverse past the lockout takes a bit more force than the Wevo was. Perhaps just need to get used to it, perhaps the extender will help.

Either way, this is a fine piece of craftsmanship - looks great, shifts precisely. The team has been a pleasure to work with. I'd buy it again if needed and am happy with the purchase.

I would be interested in a round shift lever for sure to replace the square one on mine. Bonus points if it's around 20-40mm longer ;).

Numeric 901 installed

Just installed a Numeric 901 shifter in a 914/6. Stock tail shifter with a
short shift kit for many years started grinding into second lately.
Installed the Numeric...shifts perfectly and NO slop whatsoever, tight,
positive and a Super Short throw.... No more grinding into second!
Very pleased with the service from Vlad ..and the unit itself!!!
Might have to get the new knob and extensions...hopefully they will offer
pre sale deal.
