torque setting
Hi, The manual I have, Haynes, is almost useless at times.. What is the torque wrench setting to the 13mm Valve cover bolts.. Putting new gaskets in..

I agree with you opinion of the Haynes manual. From my research I went with 6 ft lbs.
Tighten in a few steps from the middle out. Best Foster

This is basically snug plus a quarter turn, maybe half.

Agree. Do not whack it down 15-18 ft-lbs, even though the M8 nuts/studs would normally take that torque. If you do, you are likely to warp the covers.
