The engine originally had carbs since it is a European model.

Either you misread the source (the 2 in the 652...indicates the model year, 1972) or the source is incorrect (typo, 9 instead of 7).

This source Porsche 911 E- und F-Modell 1972/73 shows engine type 911/57 as correct for engine nos. 6530001-653239, making yours correctly identified.

Thanks L.J. I got my info from Page 35 of Patrick Paternies red book 1965-2005
The 59 must be a typo.
Thanks for your reply.

Yes it is factory RHD.
Any way I can find out where the engine was delivered to?
Cheers

Degree of difficulty goes up. Numbers on my mfi pump are:

33028210
EP/RLA 1/51 R
PED6KL 60/120 R3 X
Can anyone kindly steer me in the right direction to get its history?
Many thanks

with this number on the plate will be the 0408 126 0xx, where we need to know the xx.
There is no realistic way to determine the country the engine was delivered to.

'73 Engine Code

Well, I am in trouble. The engine code on my 1973 911T (chasis # 9113100496) has been ground off! The engine type (911/01) is still visible, but that is all I can see.

Any other way to identify the engine?

There is a sticker on the fan housing, saying it is a 911E/911S - 134.2 cubic inch. That is, however, no guarantee of what it is.

type 911/01 is a 2.2 911E engine
That should have MFI, and the numbers on the pump should show 0408 126 010 on one of the plates.

That is a pump for the 1973 2.7 RS engine.
Since the case is for a carb engine I would seriously question what is inside. I cannot imagine an RS pump working well without the rest of the parts inside also.

Thanks DJ,
Wow! So a serious mfi pump then? I will check on the engine. It may have done some track work so I doubt it factory inside.

Thinking about it a bit more, that is brilliant news on the mfi pump?

Given the mfi pump, I'm trying to get my head around the build of the car. This pump is rare and valuable, or am I missing something?

Certainly valuable; just do a search on "0408 126 019" for more info.
The presence of the pump suggests that other RS components may be present.
One component is difficult to use by itself, and relies on the combo for real benefit.
It is possible for me to get the Kardex for the car if you wish it. Just PM or email me.

Engine is 83 from a ROW 911SC 1983

The VIN WPOZZZ91ZBS100856 is for a ROW 911SC 1981

If the B was a D they would be matching (1983).

63D1674 is a 930/10 Version

That engine type was the same that was fitted on the 1981, so beside the serial number difference (631xxxx) its really transparent, you are not loosing anything.

9.8:1 Compression Ratio
Fuel Requirement Raised to 98 RON
204 HP @ 5,900 Rpm
189 f-p Torque @ 4,200 Rpm

Anyone able to help with this engine number from an 83 SC: 63D4774? It appears correct for the year and model from what I can tell, but it doesn't match the VIN number in any way, is that normal?

Thanks.
