I would be totally ok....

....with someone offering me their 1970 6301329 engine.
That would in fact make my day. I would probably have to offer that person several cold beers plus $$

Speedo

Serial # 64J02422 is a 1988 3.2 liters Type 930/25

217 hp @ 5900 Rpm
264 lb-ft @4800 Rpm

Some one replace the normal filter to a cone one. No power gain but it does cleanup the engine bay.
Do you happen to know if this was a 50 State legal engine? Also I changed the filter but I am required by California state law to put the correct airbox back on ...which I still have.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all the info!!!!!!!!!

It only mentioned that it was for the US, Canada, Japan and European countries without premium grade ubleade fuel.

It is fitted with a Catalytic converters.

There was an Option Code for California "M027" (see quote below).

I doubt that the Air Filter would not pass but you never know.

You should do a specific Post for it.

I think the rubber support around the gascap may have been some sort of protection against biofuels but am not certain. The same M027 option was on VW´s

Thank you. I have the old airbox so that is one thing I won't need to find. The car was a CAlifronia spec SC from day one BUT it no longer has that CA approved 3.0. So Ca Smog Stations require me to prove the engine was originally out of a CA smoged car. Its a serious PITA. I am also required to put all the emissons equipment on the car for the year of the motor not the car. That won't be hard in case but I have got to find out if this 3.2 came out of a CA car. I will be calling Parts Heaven Monday afternoon to see what they can find out as the motor came from them. Tahnks again for all the help!!!!!

Engine

Hi,
I recently bought a '77 911S (VIN 9117200097). The engine casing (?) is marked 930/06. The engine crank casing in the bottom is 930 101 1034R...does that correspond to a 3 liter motor? If so, from what year is it from?
Thank you!

The original Engine type for your VIN was a 911/85 (2.7 liter)

The 930/06 was fitted to a 78 Targa California. 3 liter fitted with with Catalytic Converters and EGR emissions.

655043 is missing at least one digit. Also look for the engine type # located to the right of, and behind the serial #.
