Wow, if only I didn't have emissions to meet. What a nice setup. Give it a go.

Wow! TWM throttle bodies are NOT CHEAP! I say keep it and try to get it all running!

However, if you sell what you have, I'm sure you will have enough $$$ from the transaction to either buy some webers outright or a nice down payment on some PMO carbs.

Either way, you have help from Jamie on the MS and John Walker on the carbs. Not a bad spot to be in if you ask me

Whoa.... I think I will Give this a try. Jamie, I am a bit of a newbe on this Porsche and EFI thing but I think I can do It. By the sounds of it the results should be well worth the effort.
I will be away for a couple of days and then I will get right at it. Yes I do have a laptop. I also have a USB adaptor that came with the box of parts. So I think I am rigged up with the computer.
I will trouble shoot the other stuff and let you know....

The picture helps a lot.

When you check your fuel pressure, jot down what it is. Jamie will need to know that in addition to the injector flow rate.
Does your laptop have a standard 9 pin serial connection? Megasquirt has some issues using some usb to serial adapters.
If you have a MSI controller with the daughter card installed, then it's now a MSII with the 12X12 tables(that's what the daughter card does).
Megasquirt doesn't appear to be controlling your ignition. If there's no spark when you crank the engine, there are other ignition issues to troubleshoot. When megasquirt is used to control the ignition it's typically done using EDIS with coilpacks and a toothed wheel on the crank with a crank position sensor. Once you get the megasquirt tuning software running on your pc you'll see the places where you input the ignition settings, but it doesn't appear to be connected to anything.
Another thing to determine is if you are using a narrowband or a wideband O2 sensor. A wideband will have some sort of controller box between the sensor and the megasquirt controller. That box is not necessarily close to the O2 sensor.
When you get your pc to talk to megasquirt, save a copy of whatever configuration is currently there before you change anything. You may find it very valuable later on.
Keep us posted on what you find.

Hi Guys.... I have done a little more homework on my problems and here's where I am at the moment.
I will have to trouble shoot my Fuel pump. It was working before the body shop and if I remember correctly it was putting out over 40 psi. However, It is now not working at all. I will test my fuses and can I test the pump with an OHM meter?
My laptop will handle the cables when necassary for the programing.
To sum up.... The pump did work and now it is not.... and I will be able to program the Megasquirt box when the time comes... I will be testing and I will be in touch...

Sounds good. Let us know when you are ready. I suspect the car may run fine once the fuel pump is fixed. I would hate to think that the PO went to the trouble of setting up the TWMs and then not getting the injection system running.

Just check for 12 volts at the pump. If you've got voltage there, tap the pump gently with a hammer and it may start working again.

Thanks for subscribing to this forum Frank. If you are thinking about converting to EFI these guys have definite thoughts on both sides of the issue. If they get me to where I want to be I think it will be a true testament to the forum.
In the meantime to those interested in how it is going... I have a a couple of matters I will investigate and resolve this weekend and I should be ready to tackle the computer part after that.
I will keep you posted Jamie

Hi Guys... I thought I better get you folks up to date with my woes. Due to the distracting nature of my troubles I have put off trying to start my car until my other work is completed. I have to mount bumpers, rockers, whaletail and lights. I also have wiring issues with the lights, mirrors and windows. I also have to replace my fuse box.
When I took my car to the body shop it was turning over and the fuel pump and horn were working. I got it back and tried to start it and nothing. A mechanic at a high end rod shop next to the body shop made a two hour attempt to start it and I told them not to waste any more time.
I replaced the battery, took the starter out and tested it and still nothing. Could it be my ignition switch or my fuse box? maybe any other ideas.
I will pick away at starting between my other work unless I am getting somewhere...

How is the battery voltage? Check it at the starter. Check the connections at the positive terminal at the battery.

Also look to see if you have 12V through pin 1 (large yellow wire) on the 14 pin engine wiring harness connector while the key is in start. Verify the same at the starter terminal spade connector. this is the signal that will energize the starter solenoid.

If you have wiring problems for your lights, it is likely that this will be the root of the rest of your problems.

I think you need to be a little more systematic rather than throwing wild guesses (and money) at it: The engine needs spark and fuel to start. Check both while you crank and make sure the Megatune realtime display "agrees" with your observations (especially spark timing).

If one or the other is missing you know where to focus your efforts.

That is very good advice. There is a fair bit of work left for me on the car and getting it started is a major issue. My first effort is to find out why my engine no longer turns over. Systematically it looks like I have to begin from the beginning
