Which stud?

Hello everybody, great site here and proud to be a part of it! I have to replace one of the studs that hold the lower valve cover. I looked over and over through the catalog and I am just not seeing which one is the one I need. Thanks

It isn't anything fancy. You could buy a rod of M8 allthread and cut a suitable length off too.

Year-and-a-half old thread, I know, but it seems a good place for these questions:
There's no magic, must-have metal for these low-torque valve cover studs is there? I can just match them up at a local retailer, right?

Nuts are solidly stuck on two of three studs that backed out when I pulled one of the lower covers.

Did you try to double nut the other end? I have never had a problem getting off a stuck nut this way. Clean threads with wire wheel.

Yep. Tried double nutting and soaking with pb blaster. They are really stuck. I will try again, but am going to pick up some new ones just in case.
