Back when i used to live in houston, his prices where as competitive as eurowerks or less. I don't know now, but i would suspect that hes is very competitive, now saying this, i would like to add my 2 cents, sometimes what appears to be expensive in the long run is economical, and i think Mike is one of these guys.
Also i am with Zeke, a good shop the owner does not have to turn the wrench, just do like a fine orchestra director, knowledge and be there. just my 2 cents..

Wanted to let y'all know that Mike Callas passed away this week. The memorial service is likely next Tuesday in Sealy.
I came across this thread when searching for the obituary. He was a client, family friend, and one heck of a Porsche lover. |

RIP Mike. Not sure there was anything about air cooled P-cars he didn't know and he was definitely a man of few words.

Mike will be missed. My heart goes out to MC and Warren - I'm sure they are hurting right now.

Sad to see this I had been out to his shop a few times, and it was a fantastic place to visit.

Has this been confirmed?
Sad to hear. Just reading this thread made me want to visit his shop as I used to pass through Sealy frequently.

Damn. RIP Mike. He was one of the good ones. We are losing the old guard. There's a piece of American Porsche history that goes with each one of these guys.

This is very sad news, indeed. I had some 915 and alignment work done at Mike's shop earlier in the year. Both he and Warren were very competent and cordial, and I looked forward to each visit. Such a loss for his family, friends and the Porsche community.

This deeply saddens me.
I visited Mike twice last year and he replaced the windshield on my car. He is a gent and wonderful man. His wife made me very much at home. RIP Mike.

I had the good fortune to have my car serviced by him a few months ago. He was very fair and helped me out with info on my row. Mike, his wife and warren were very attentive. He will be missed. He had extensive knowledge on air cooled Porsches, didn't advertise yet many came even from Europe and Japan for his expertise.
