Just to re-open this thread, still looking for the rubber piece attached to the PCV.

Since the baffle part number indicated here does not seem to fit, does anybody have the correct part number for the rubber attached to the PCV valve (I realized that says valve twice, but it reads better).

I want to replace both on my upcoming engine out maintenance cycle.

If I can't find it I'll use John Walkers trick of covering it with heat shrink!

you can "fix" the cracked rubber sleeve with a short piece of shrink tubing and a heat gun. it comes in all sizes. same for the one in the left upper area of the engine.

Lots of talk about oil or oil vapour getting sucked back into the intake and becoming smoke. We don't like smoke. Can I disconnect one or both of the crankcase breathers? What if the PCV hose and valve vent the crankcase and don't make it back to the intake?
I know it's not PC to vent to atmosphere without reburning, but I'm talking mechanical issues here. IF my car is sucking oil into the intake, I'll fix it by disconnecting what?

You need only the single crankcase breather to oil tank. Beyond that, I installed an oil tank breather catch can and removed all of the other hoses. I capped the inlets on the throttle body/rubber boot and I capped the corresponding intake and PVC outlets at the oil tank. No issues for last two years on my 3.2

3.2 swaps into older cars often eliminate the PCV system, because they forget to pirate it from the donor car. There are many of these cars running 3.2 Motronic engines with no ill effects. I agree the PCV installation on these cars is an unnecessary redundancy because the engine & oil tank have ample breathe-ability with the engine case breather feeding the oil tank, and the oil tank breather being plumbed right back into the throttle body rubber elbow.

Just in case any of you are interested in using the Oetiker Clamps, which are far superior to the screw on clamps, the installation tool can be found in most Home Depot stores in the Plumbing section for around $60. They also have a few different sized fittings, but you can find all the different sizes on-line.

I agree with Bob that the Oetiker clamps are really nice. The single ear clamps with double banding are the real deal just like Porsche used back in the day. You can get the clamps at McMaster, as well as the pincer pliers he mentioned.
