Thanks Doug,
Were you at the BMW DE in Calabogie last July? There was a mint 3.2 on track. It looked identical to yours. |

Made lots of progress last night. Torqued flywheel/clutch assembly. Installed proper length trans studs, heater tube cross over, vacuum lines, etc.
![]() Installed engine tin. I had to do lots of sheet metal fab in the back (of engine) corners. Basically it involves cardboard, sheet metal and lots of patience. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Next up, I finished installing the trans cooler lines and mated the tranny to the engine. Check out the throttle linkage- just like original

Great story and photos, Tom. Can't wait to see this in person next spring.
Larry's yellow hot rod is looking pretty good as well ! |

Thanks Jim. Larry would definitely the the man if you ever need work on that turbo of yours. He's currently tearing apart Jeff's 964 turbo.

Looking great. Should be awesome with the 3.6! Hope to have a chance to see it in action some time since we are so close together ... I am in Newfoundland and thinking about heading to NS in September for the Porsche DE day. Be in touch if anyone is interested in visiting the rock for a little run

Your making great progress Tom, have you heard from Garth on the vacuum issue? I really got to find some time to do some visiting, Larry, Greg and yourself, just not enough hours in the days and shift work limits my time off when the rest of the world is, BOO HOO. I see Ron posted your link to the rest of the region, pressures on dude everyone will be peaking in on you and Greg.
![]() Richard Hey did you read the article in last Excellence about Track days and the rampant sickness it brings on with Porsche owners... quite a laugh. |

Thanks for the kind words Geoff and Richard. You can drop in any time. You can find my number on "Canada 411". Last night I bolted the engine up to the car. Then I had a few beers. Still a long way to go.

I am in st John's on the east coast but only 90 min from the Argenia ferry and right on the Targa route. I marshaled for Targa last year. What a great race targa is and would be good in either the P-car or the Subaru.

I didn't have much time to work on it today. I did manage to hook up all the wires between the car and engine. Not much room to work with. It takes a fair amount of time to tuck the wires up neatly. The only thing left to do in the engine bay is install the return fuel line. I need a line from my 3.0l which happens to be at Larry's. CV joints are hooked up (34ft. lbs.) and the transmission cooler lines.

The "Happy crab 2" from Steve Timmins is on it's way. Dual-In-Dual-Out Exhausts
It just cleared customs on Friday so I'm hoping it will be here by Wed. |

I made some more progress today. I didn't like how the fuel line just laid there so I secured it to the body
![]() Reinstalled the clutch helper spring assembly and adjusted the clutch cable. After I adjusted it, I pumped the clutch pedal a few times and found I needed to adjust again. ![]() Reinstalled the sway bar. Don't forget to grease the bushings. These things squeak very easily. ![]() Filled the tranny with Swepco. That stuff is thick and sticky! ![]() That's all I can do for now until the exhaust and oil coolers show up. I decided to put in some LED blinkers in the front since the only blinker was too far to the side. It's always fun to build brackets. Yes, I did it, I cut out the headlight buckets ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I also replaced the bugle horns with the factory alarm horn to help open up the area in front of the oil cooler. Of course now it sounds like a VW bug. Oh well. ![]() |

The exhaust arrived today. Couldn't wait to install it. This thing is a work of art and a perfect fit.
![]() ![]() There were no instructions so it took a little while to figure out how the middle bracket went. ![]() Then everything fell right into place. ![]() Next it was time to cut the valance for the dual pipes. Thanks for the tip on using the dremel tool Lloyd. ![]() ![]() |
