Started the paint correction on my 88. Not bad for original 32 year old paint.

Fuel smell

I've had a hard time locating a fuel smell that I have when driving.
I replaced and restored almost the whole fuel system but the smell was still there.
Finally I checked an Expansion tank located just under the dashboard.
There was two cracks that allowed fuel vapor to escape.

I had to remove the Air vent Control box to get it out, so now I'm also cleaning up that whole area.

Started installing a DAS Sport roll bar, but ran into an issue with the supplied hardware. It's too long and bottoms out before clamping the mounting points of the bar.

If you can’t find a replacement (Porsche Classic?) i repaired mine using JB Weld several years ago.

Went to catch up on some magazine back reading tonight, given our impending worldwide quarantine situation, and came across a doodle made by my daughter.

I just put a small drop of super glue that easily penetrates into the cracks.
Afterwards it's easy to check if it is tight.

But there are new available on the market from 50$ in the US (Parts klassic) to 150€ in Europe. (Rose passion)
Don't know the reason for the big difference in price.

That's sweet

With this virus stuff I enjoy spending some extra time in my garage. Going to fix some minor things I would otherwise not do.
Just a great way to pass time in my micro world

Looks like a silver fender from a 50's Chevy car,

Hi Upier - I used a Griot's kit from autogeek.

https://www.autogeek.net/griots-garage-paint-perfection-kit.html

Many will bemoan the fact that there are better or more advanced chemicals, but I found these older Meguirar's products work really well on the soft single stage paint on my 911. Getting ready to do the Klasse sealant this weekend. Overall I am very happy with the results so far.

Installed the drivers side nos Recaro in the 1978 SC. Lots of modification to the factory slider. They look amazing with my Cork interior. They were covered with seat covers since purchased in the 1970's and are in new condition. Passenger side will go in next weekend. Love the bolstering, night and day from the factory tombstones. Big thanks to speedster911.

I replaced the engine bay heat pipes in my 911SC with plastic covered APK duct. Looks smart now compared to the old paper duct.
