I like it a lot. It may not be for everyone but it's unique and stylish in it's own way.

it looks like it won't flow air nearly as well as the factory one. if you have a/c condenser back there i woudl think it would make it almost useless.

No restricted flow. My car is the white coupe and still has the condenser hooked up. There are 28 inverted 4 inch louvers. The blue cars has the same 28 4 inch louvers but are facing forward. He has also had no cooling issues.

I can offer criticism of that, although not really constructive.
To my eyes, that is horrible. I can't imagine that you'd sell many of those. From a technical standpoint, I'd also want to see some real data on air flow with the stock grille and with that. The 911 engine fan pulls in quite a bit of air, and that grille is very restrictive looking. |

Look at the pics. Hardly restrictive. Some testing is in the works, Monterey Historics. Besides everyday driving which I think is a solid test as any, I am experiencing no issues at all. There is significant airflow from all around the sides of the grille as well as the 28 4 inch louvers.

Thanks! A lot of hard work was put into developing the grille.

It just doesn't work for me. You are taking a 1950's hot rod modification and trying to make it work in an area that just doesn't cry out for modification.

I would prefer the perimeter better match the opening in the engine cover. the radii of the grill are tighter and the ends are straight, neither match the car well, to my eye.
it's not my cup of tea, but I see that there are those who would like it. I just think it needs massaging.

I TOTALLY concur with ROT 911's posting. In my ''opinion" it's hideous

Sorry - not feeling it. I also think it's gotta be restrictive with such a smaller total open area. Even if isn't restrictive from an engineering standpoint, the looks don't resonate with me. Workmanship looks good though.

What are you guys going to charge? My Hot Rod louvre guy charges 2 bucks per louvre punch when you bring him the steel/aluminum.....that's for measuring alignment and the punch.

Looks to me like the radius corners are not from the same center e.g. the gaps are not uniform. I think it's very important on a Porsche that gaps and seams are nearly perfect. That's my biggest crit.

The pics are from our prototypes. The space around the grille will be fairly tight ie 2 or 3mm and equal around all sides. These are CAD developed, laser cut, rolled, louvered, and then can be brushed, painted, powder coated.

Good try, always like to see new ideas but it doesn't work for me. Louvre's are generally used in in unvented sheet metal areas. Additional venting.
Placing a louvre'd plate in an already screen vented area is simply a 'look' and doesn't do anything 'purposeful'....louvre's are by their nature purposeful so there is no balance to it. Now if you sold louver'd rear decks with original screens then you'd have a product. |
