It has to exist though. There's too many ricers out there ( like myself) that also own porsches
They're lower on page 8. These look to be all clear but there is no description of them besides the pic. Part #: 911-631-951-00-OEM and 911-631-952-00-OEM.

My bad, I said 11/20 was the start of boards w/ballast resistors but I should have said 10/20. I lost track of time. Anything after October 20 is good.

Christmas comes early.

Front turnsignals for '69-'73. Some assembly required.

Fit in the bucket is good. I will have to make a position frame to make sure it sits correctly and can be easily installed.

The clips on the right side are wider than the clips on the left. This is because the bucket height is not symmetric on each side.

Designed the basic shape of the position frame for the '69-'73 front turnsignal. I'll add ribbing when I'm satisfied the shape and size are correct.

The slots in the short legs align the frame in the bucket. I'm assuming all fixtures have these ribs.

The board fits very nicely in the bucket and is quite stable with the frame behind it.

Forget those old junkers, let's focus on getting front and rear turn signals ready for sale on the SC's and Carreras lol

My shop was saying the rear euro lens on my car are looking a little warped. They said to get an OEM pair and have them shipped to the shop.

Is there a shortage of right lenses?
Is it just me or does it appear they don't sell the right rear OEM euro lens?

BTW, are the front turn signals with the daytime running lights officially for sale yet?

The clear tail light lenses are the Italian spec lenses. Search for "Italian".

How did you search that? I looked there and didn't see anything clear related to 911's. Just 996 and 997's.

I finally got around to comparing the Philips LED replacement with one of my brake LED boards. Measurements taken at 1 meter adjusted left or right to obtain a maximum value.

Results:
Philips Spoke
160LUX 210LUX Brake
30LUX 60LUX Running Lights

In both cases, there was no lens to help diffuse the light. The fixture I used was a 914 rear light enclosure.

Here's the intensity footprint of the Philips LED. because it is trying to emulate a light bulb, both LEDs are not pointing directly forward but to the side so the enclosure does most of the reflecting. As can be seen, there is one spot of high intensity.

The intensity footprint of my brake board is quite large. This board does not rely on reflection off of the car's reflector and directs all energy to the rear of the car. The camera is adjusting is aperture so the intensity of both look similar.

You make a good point Spoke, in the case of anything less than a perfect reflector, plug in bulb type LED solutions will suffer. Now that I've had the chance to drive around with my new and improved brake lights, and having fixed the tired MC switches everything is once again right with the world.

Euro lens info

Hi, if anyone is looking for used Euro tail light lens, then try a Canadian auto dismantler as all Canadian SC's & 3.2's come standard with Euro lens.

I just started a FS: ad for 3rd brake lights mainly to detail installation instructions.

Question Wait a Minute... something's Wrong here...

and it's not about the Key.

After reviewing this thread again, being excited to get my LED upgrade going, I noticed these pictures, and the location of the front turn signal.

The front turn signal is in the Front, and the side marker is on the side.

Like this:

and this:

But mine on my 78 SC are reversed.

like this:

running light front, turn signal side,

just turn signal;

Whats up with that? Is this the way 78 should be? or did a PO reverse them?
Can I fix it? the bulbs are different sizes.

Daytime Running Lights on my 78 ?

[QUOTE=spoke;8906272]

Running Lights:
I've found with my '86 that the running lights, if left on, go out when I turn the key off. So when I start the car, the running lights and tail lights go on. I don't have to turn on/off every time I drive the car. The headlights do stay on with the car off.

Can I get mine to do this, too? It sounds like a simple re-wire jumper, etc?
On my 78, the lights stay on with key off, so it kills the battery, ask me how I know.

Scotricker -
Your side marker and turn signals are reversed. The lights are the same size and my body guy said it is a common mistake (he said he as seen it several times). The euro cars don't have the bumper side marker. I just corrected mine.

As far as I can tell, the standard 930 (only schematic I have) should not do this. Power comes from the battery straight to the ignition switch (no fuse...Yikes!) then to the light switch. My car must have been modified at some time.
