Finishing up the little details for the interior, matched the dash trim to the door panels I made. Then it needed a Brighton Rennsport dash emblem too!

i like the silver. it ties in with the dash trim without going over the top.
the brushed buttons on the gauges complement the styling cues also.

You have done an amazing job w your car. And in case no one has said it, you are also a very good photographer. The various pics you have posted along the way are really well done.

Thanks for the compliments, it’s been a labor of love and fun. I love DIYing the work and so far I’ve done everything myself (and dad) which is very rewarding.

My most recent upgrade is new LED bulbs for my H4s, wow what a difference! I’ll post night photos this week, but amazing transformation for $60

Shakedown run today after a ton of work and tweaks, got the stance right by raising the rear 1/2 inch. Just about ready for Summer Vintage next week at Road America!

Brasch: If you still have epoxy primer as your top coat, be aware of a few things. Primers are designed to allow adhesion of a final top coat, and are not as water tight and durable as a real top coat paint. Second, epoxy in general does not have good UV resistance. You should not keep it out in the sun or rain until you get that killer Viper Green top coat on it.

Thanks Pete and yes I am aware that it isn't the best long-term solution. For now though I love the flat white and it is so easy to keep looking good... Some day it will be Viper Green, but not too soon!

Finally replaced my rear wheel bearings, WOW they were so bad and noisey, I can hear my exhaust finally over the bearing roar!

Finishing some more details... made a RSR inspired spare and DIYing some leather hold down straps. I had to see what the 72turboOutlaw would look like with RSR wheels too and I like it more than I thought... some day I’ll switch it up

Sorry if I missed it, but how did you get a full size spare in there?

brasch 08-21-2018 05:46 AM

It’s a 1972 fuel tank so a 16”x6” wheel fits good... I think the newer tanks only fit space savers?

rolfjahn 08-22-2018 04:19 PM

Beautiful build-lots of great ideas I can steal...I mean use
