Just learned another newbie lesson Spark is not the same as good spark. Distributor seems to be it! Ordered a new cap and rotor (couldnīt find it locally), but they were out of stock. So while waiting, I cleaned the old one and scuffed contact points. MUCH better! Went for a 30 min drive, only had a few backfires. Hopefully theyīll be all gone when I get the new cap and rotor. *fingerscrossed*

Should I have my mixture checked after getting propper spark? Will it be altered? It was adjusted correctly while I had the backfires, as an attempt to fix it...

To anyone interested. Cap and rotor did the trick! Iīve had a few weeks of pizza, pasta and red wine. When I got back the new cap and rotor was waiting for me. Quick install and a 30 min test drive. Nothing but the noises we love

On a sidenote. The old an new rotor is the Bosch one with a 6500 rpm rev limiter. On my last drive with the old rotor, the rev limiter kicked inn around 5800 rpmīs. Could also be a hint of a much needed rotor replacement...?

Glad to hear that fixed it. Was pretty sure it would.

They are not perfect/exact when on the rotor...as much as some other rev-limiting solutions That said, you were probably at 6500 and your gauge just had not caught up. You should probably not hit the limiter in normal driving...so be careful. It is easy to get caught up in the 911 exhaust music.

Yeah I always try to stay below, but that 2,7 just sounds and feels like it wants to keep going well beyond, so I sometimes canīt help it
