I can't call in a kiddie porn - I'm trying to set a good example and be neighborly but hell yeah I'm pissed. I think I will hack the password into their router and block them accessing the net. That would be a prank but not destructive.

Winter Park, FL. near Orlando. Nice and good demographic.
My uncle (past) lived in Barefoot Bay for years. (N.of MCO)

That's a sensible idea about the password, but it probably would be traced back to you since she has filed a complaint already.

Talk to the neighbors who understand your current temporary situation and possibly be seen by the "evil" neighbor. Intimidation. I have a couple of same in my HOA who do nothing but complain and fail to help if asked.

GL on both

Not the best idea.

Dude, that stinks. I have had the same complaint and won against it in court. Fight the ticket and then send a letter to code enforcement complaining about the conduct of the officer writing the ticket. All complaints have to go into the permanent employment file. Go to the code enforcement office and lodge a formal complaint.

Not the best idea to hack a router. I know it is pretty easy. However, It IS a federal offense and not something you want to mess with. The best revenge is to live well. The neighbor is probably jealous. Forget about em.

UPDATE:

She runs, not well but she runs!

Turned out it was the engine computer. Darn Motronic unit must have been killed during the compression test. Had i know to disconnect the DME for the test I would have. Well in all likely hood it was likely on its way out.

Thanks for all the help everyone.

Next step:

Flushing the cooling system: some radiator goop in there.

Master Cylinder: Starting to leak a bit

Cam tower gasket: Mine is leaking on to the exhaust manifold and smoking out the interior of the car. Stinky!

Fuel injectors: Cleaning/re o-ringing or replacing them with ford units

Rings: Gotta find a set that wont kill me.

Seats: Comfortable sport styled seats with good bolsters and comfortable on long drives

Interior: Convert to black interior from tan

Money: Start a not for profit so I can collect money from fellow p-car drivers to support my bad habit of buying cheap p-cars

Never heard of that. I've done a lot of compression tests and have never yet disconnected the DME. Perhaps it just died?

Excellent news! I am glad for you.

I noticed you said you may need:

Interior: Convert to black interior from tan

(I have some stuff that is right along those lines that needs a home, so when you are ready let me know.)

However, as far as the next wish list item:

Money: Start a not for profit so I can collect money from fellow p-car drivers to support my bad habit of buying cheap p-cars

LOL

(I am not sure I can help with that item, but it sure is a good idea!! )

Cheers and congratulations.

Excellent thread, guys.

Shows that in spite of all the knowledge and experience one can gain, nothing will beat intuition.

Muy impresionante.

Unfortunately, its not in spite of all the knowledge that failed. Bad DME means no spark. A noid light would have dignosed it immediately and its one of the first things recommended on the first page. Its no black magic at work here. In the first post DME was ruled out when it should not have been.

Good point, Legoland!

Like I have always said, "it's always something fundamental."

I reread the first page and 83Zel944 did get a noid light and test on post 14 & 15.
Why did 'Zel get an apparant OK reading from the noid? Solder or pin contacts bad?. What is the Porsche shop manual procedure or expert advice to use a noid light to prevent additional damage to electronics when testing? Is the coil disconected? Fuel pump disconected? Have I been lucky in the past?

I take it you're not very familiar with Black Magic...

False diagnosis or intermittent problems cannot be helped. I was not under the impression that it was an intermittent no start though. I am very familiar with the 944 no starts and I have not encountered a 944 I couldn't diagnose in 30 minutes out of the 100+ 944s I have owned let alone customer's cars.

yippie!

Okey Dokey then. Bad DME eh? well, doesn't happen often...But it does happen. Sorry to hear that it is such an expensive component. Judging by your list of to do's you are quite the adventurous person. If I may offer my advice I would hold off on some of the more cosmetic items until such time as th car has proofed itself. As for the coolant system...just flush a few times with distilled water. Do not use radiator flush as it tends to be a little harsh and may create more problems than it solves. Keep the injectors you have for now if they are functioning well. some FI cleaner and a few highway drives can do wonders. TB OK?

BAD DME's can present in strange and mysterious ways. Be kind to the one you have now. Consider running a separate grounding wire running from the case to a solid point on the body. Clean and inspect ALL grounds, and power connections at the alt and battery. Good luck 2U.
