stalling problems?
I just finished a 968 engine in my 87 951. Everything went pretty smooth with no major surprises. One last problem I can't figure out is that it tends to stall went stopping. I will do my best to describe the situation.
When stopping if I depress the clutch, let's say at 3000 rpm, the engine tends to stall almost instantly. If i depress the clutch at 1300 rpm or below it will idle fine. Also it idles perfect at startup. The 968 engine pulls strong all the way past 6000 and no sputtering through out the power band. No hesitation off the line. My first thought was replacing the TPS, but I am not convinced that it is faulty. Any ideas? |

The engine will not stall easy in stock form.
Lightened flywheel and or lightened crank will make that easier. I have done both. would only recommend 1 of 2 for street driver. Otherwise maybe Stage 3 plus clutch??

Sorry Read again. Increase Base RPM's with set Screw to ~950-1200. Will make much better
But this should not be issue with stock engine.. Just a patch. Not a fix. Also Try Disconnecting you AFM and hose it down and allow to dry for a few hours. (cleaning degreaser or such with water.
