Make sure to clean off any hardware really good. If it is rusty just replace it. Also use brake lubricant where its needed. Put some lubricant on the back of the pad or just use some of the redish orange brake quiet from auto parts store. This will make sure there is no noise at all when braking like my car. It squeels like mad because whoever did the brakes last time didn't do what I just outline above.

Grease on all metal contact points.
![]() Check your caliper rubber dust covers for rips/cuts. I just rebuilt my front 2 on the '88. If your rubber is torn, rebuild/reseal the calipers before you flush the brake fluid. Should be done every 2 or 3 years. DOT 4 Super Blue from Pelican. If you are doing the front----New seals for the wheel bearings. Repack the wheel bearings. Adjust play in the front wheel bearings. I haven't finished changing all pads and rotors yet, so no noise, but on other cars I've done there were clips or antiviberation compounds in with the new pads, but these Textars had nothing

You dont really need any of that goop on the Brembo's (i am assuming your car is a 951 based on your garage entry). There are stick on clips that anchor the brake pad into the piston bores but i have found they are not necessary and just make changing pads require removal of the caliper (which is easy..but why go through the extra work for nothing).
I have never really had problems with squealing or noise on a normal street pad (track pads are a different story.. you can hear my stopping from a mile away), the most important thing is to bed the pads in correctly.

I just picked up this 944T(951) about a month ago(and love it,1st porshe), there were not any clips on the pads and maybe previous owner removed them also, but what do you mean by Brembo, caliber?

The 951 has calipers made by Brembo.
These are the stick on dampers i was talking about, in my experience not worth the trouble. Brake Pad Vibration Damper

Slowly place the wrench on the ground, and step away from the car. . .

hahaha Rasta, that is funny and I know you are just busting chops but give the guy a break, he's had the car a month and it's his first. There was a time when you had never heard of brembo...

If you're gonna be drinking for heaven's sake come and do it up here! Or at the very least have 2 or 3 for me and all the other poor saps stuck out here in redneckland.
IIRC, Rasta's an herbalist also...
