Replaced fuel sender gasket - hopefully that will get rid of the slight gas odor. I did notice that the hose clamps to the vent/return lines on the top would not tighten enough. Hoses must have shrunk over the years. Replaced those too.

Now need to clean the contacts under the heating/ac fan resistors since speed 2 is often speed 1!

Last weekend I lubed up the clutch pedal a bit since it was not smooth. Feels great now but it took a couple of days for my back to recover from the contortions!

Today...

I wanted to hose that flygirl to get her off ...

My windshield but unfortunately the wifey parked her 'cute' wee german car in front of the hose spigot,

so I had to improvise.

I replaced my 12 year old cam chain tensioner pads with 55k on them (I can sleep soundly now), new valve cover gasket, swapped my ugly beat up side molding for a new one, and detailed the interior. Slowly getting ready for the SE 944fest next weekend.

Rock guards come off tomorrow

Replaced the rear hatch seal and cassette box. Looked under the rear for the source of an occasional knock when turning right…no luck there.

My AC belt started whining.
I took the plastic under tray off to tightening it and found that the rear AC mount bolt was gone which caused the front bolt to shear off and the tensioning rod eyelet bolted to the AC compressor to snap off as well.
So I put in a new rear bolt and replaced the tensioning rod.
The front bolt sheared off halfway through the mount so there is no easy way to remove it. It is still all the way in the AC compressor housing and sticking halfway through the mount. With the rear bolt in place and the tensioning rod fixed, the whole compressor feels very solid. Am I risking it all coming apart by leaving that broken bolt where it is?

I finally got around to addressing the remaining rubbing on the drivers side rear. As you can see from the picture, I wasn't rubbing on the edge of the fender, I stretched that out of the way. It was the inner lip and the inner fender liner that were rubbing. I went back to my old ways of dealing with this. I took a big hammer to it.(I had to go buy a new one as I lost my old one. I have no idea how I lost a 5 lb hammer. It's not like it's some tiny thing that can get lost in a drawer. )

The area marked in red is now about 3/4 to 1 inch further away from the edge/side of the tire and I get no more rubbing(and I tried pretty hard to get it to rub)

Nothing done to the car since the new owner was handed the keys last Saturday.According to him the car ran flawlessly for 1,500 klms and is now park in his garage in the Toronto region. The transaction when smoothly and he seem very very please with the car,he will be sending pics of the trip & I,ll pass them on to you.Unless he does decide to do it himself since he his a Pelican member out of the 911 forum.I,m still trying to get use to it when I walk in an empty garage without my beloved 968, but I guess one has to turn the page & keep going.

I had an adapter added to the end of the factory exhaust pipe that comes off the header. My old cat was bad so I cut it off and made my own adapter which didn't stay connected very well. This one stays connected.

It goes from the factory 2.25 inch pipe up to a 3 inch cat/cat back.

Pops, you have the best shaved bumper. Love the modification inboard of the signals.

Today.. I added some support rods to the splitter. It would start to shudder around 90 MPH.

Also a good opportunity to show off my rad shield. The condenser was no longer the first line of defense, since i did an AC delete.

went to start it and take her for a spin, after letting her sit for 10 days. cranks , cranks and cranks, doesnt start.

was a bit wet out, so I sprayed wd40 all over wires, which worked last year as I have been chasing an obnoxious no start issue. which seemed to have gone away this year. until today.

tach was bouncing, so I knew ref sensors were good, on a hunch replaced DME relay and it started right up. everyone should keep a spare in the glove box. old dme seemed to be loose inside.

but after I came back from errands. i popped in old dme relay and it fired right up.

does that make any kind of sense >

started prepping for a spring swap on the blue car. going to run a stacked setup to gain a progressive rate. did the math, and going to take the initial rate back to stock, but firm it up to about 20% stiffer from where it is now under heavy load. should really give me a nice street ride, while actually giving me better cornering. probably going to see a bit more initial roll, but it should be minimal, given the size of sway bars i have, which are bigger than M030

Contacts inside the relay are problably kaput. And this is what they will do run on & off, just had the same experience with a fan relay not long ago.Buy a new one & keep it in the glove boxe for peace of mind.

You're a guy, right? You should know how to get a girl off.

Another set of projects

Cleaned all of the ground connections and rebuilt the cruise control servo. Replaced the cruise control computer and now it all works. Fixed two problems instead of one.
