I fixed my temp gauge today on the 951. It would stop working and you could tap on the cluster and it would jump back up and start working. I pulled cluster and one of the harnesses on the back of the cluster was loose. Seems to work fine now. I also installed the Lindsey manual boost controller.

Put on the throttle cam from our sponsor. Works great, love the improved response. Somewhat randomly removed connectors and sprayed contact cleaner on them! All were in perfect condition but it runs smoother now. Wiggling the HT leads every 26 years seams to remove any minor oxidation and improve things!

Wasn't today but in December I decided to do some interior work in my NA.
Tore out back seat. Used some basic (light) insulation for the whole rear deck/back seat space and felted what the carpet didn't cover.

Also tried to salvage a mostly spoiled driver door card (nasty pleather) from PO.

Haven't decided if I like it or not. If I end up keeping it I'll make a proper door pull and do the passenger side to match.

Looks nice smundo.

I put together a bunch of hardware for the refinished Weltmeister sway bar. All grade 8 hardware. Everything else is powder coated.
The Dynatech strut bar has some anodized parts and some powder coated parts.

Lots of stuff going on with my cars these days, just haven't had time to take pictures and post...I'll be back on Saturday hopefully, with pictures of two new cars and a complete interior change in my 924S (went from mostly tan to black with burgundy carpet and it is wonderful.)

Yesterday, I brought home my first Porsche that isn't a 924S, 944, or 928.

I also recently traded my truck for a new daily driver--at least, it will be a daily driver when I replace a really bad wheel bearing and a missing brake caliper bracket bolt.

I also just finished changing the interior in my 924S from tan, to black with burgundy carpet. I haven't got any pictures of it completed, but here's one from when I still had the tan door cards on it. I'll polish it up when the weather gets nicer and take some good pictures.

Nice crx! I have a 1986 951 and a 1987 crx hf daily driver. They complement each other very well. The crx is an amazing car. You are sure to come to love it.

Today I drove my 951 on the country hill roads for 30 miles. She's running better than ever!!

I like it a lot. It's got very comfortable Prelude seats, and my brother and I are going to decorate it with hand-painted Japanese symbols and stuff (he's an incredible artist, so it's sure to look great). It's also got a 1995 Civic engine, new clutch, new lowered suspension (NOT crappy slammed stuff), new brakes, etc. It's loud and fun and goes incredibly far on one nine-gallon tank of fuel.

I had an 86 CRX a while back and I had the clutch and engine die on me after 6k miles...hopefully this one lasts longer.

Today I looked at my car and wondered if I'll ever finish it...

I also unboxed my clutch kit and torque tube bearings. All I need is my flywheel turned and I can get back to work.

I tricked my poor friend into thinking he was just coming over to hang out while I replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil, and hood struts on the turbo... poor guy did almost everything but the plugs and wires.

At least my high-rpm hesitation is gone.

On the passenger door:
A "new" Porsche script door handle, replaced the rollers and re-greased the window regulator, and I also installed sound dampening material (Second Skin) and a finally a "new" Porsche script door panel to replace the one the OP butchered.

On the driver side:
Replaced the rollers and re-greased the window regulator. Need to install the "new" handle before I put in the sound dampening and close her up.

Props to Pyhammer for the handles, Rennbay for the rebuilt kit for the window regulators and Clark's for the instructions, lol

Any picture fiends out there? Oh, screw it, I'll post them up later :P

I took it to the gas station and filled the tank for the first time since October of 2010.

Washed and polished it then looked for vacuum leaks. Used a length of hose as a stethoscope. Found a slight leak in the connection on the bottom of the J-Boot. Of course it had the original crimp hose connector on it. A pain to remove! Put on a high quality hose clamp from Pelican and it runs a bit better now, although it never really ran badly (1987, 51,000 miles almost all original untouched parts!!!!).

Now that the winter weather has broken, time to start back with my 84. Some ding-dong hit and ran while I was at work back in Nov. so... I found a replacement front spoiler (1986 donor) and finished the installation today. The front driver's side fender still needs some help but that's for another day.

Rear brake pad sensors replaced so that bloody dash light is finally off!!! After reading various threads regarding this circuit, I've concluded that, at least with the early models, the loop must have continuity for the light to turn off. In addition, when testing each replaced sensor, the ignition must be turned off and key removed prior to starting the engine again which resets the circuit.
