Put a new timing and balanceshaft belt in the 968CS. Easy with the cranckshaft locking tool!

Not all done in one day but:

Replaced motor mounts. 4 1/2 hours from jacking the car up, all work completed and engine running. What a difference. Wasn't as bad of a job as I thought it would be.

Also drained the transaxle and put in fresh oil (Swepco), replaced the rear hatch seal, installed a Momo steering wheel and removed the jumper line off the fuel rail so I can send it to Lart's to be rebuilt.

Next up fuel lines....

turns out contaminating my clutch disc forcing me to pull and replace was a blessing in disguise.

when installing the new clutch disc, had trouble getting the bell housing on.

had set the speed sensor clearance to the ring gear wrong. so set the crank sensor pin way to high and hitting the bell housing. don't even like to think of what would have happened if I had not discovered this.

updated my 'warning' thread with my full confession.

will get back to fixing this coming weekend and hope to have some progress to report.

love the Club Sport decal.

Drove it and was approached by a very attractive woman just as I got back in after one of my stops. She kind of tapped the papers she was carrying on my hood to get my attention and came forward when I re-opened my door.
"What year?"she asked. We had a good 20 minute conversation about 944's, how she'd owned two in the past, how they were so comparatively easy to work on (the inference that she worked on her own cars made me momentarily wish I wasn't married) & somehow drifted to Audi's but recently found herself giving advice to a girlfriend who was looking to buy an '87 94S like mine. That was when she decided it was time to shop for a 944 Turbo. I gave her the Pelican web address and I hope she shows up here.
So, what did I do? Brought a believer back into fold, my friends! LOL

Today, I heard buzzing sounds coming from under the steering column.
Wondering what it could be, this time.
I made a video, please listen: http://youtu.be/pN4AwWjsTKc

i'd guess it is one of the relays. i believe the DME lives in that area as well. time to get out the stethoscope.

it could be the door buzzer is dying.

Mine is still at the paint shop while it keeps dumping snow at a unprecedented rate. I think we're over 4 feet!

Hope I got everything sorted out correctly.

buttoned up the bell housing and in the process reattached both cables (from Alt and from Batt) to the starter to the proper bolts on the bell housing.

next step, reconnect the TT.

What did I do On my car today - Instrument Lights

I replaced the instrument lights with LED's and reconditioned the reflectors so the instrument panel now shows up at night.

I have done something similar on my 356C.

nice. did you do all the warning lights or just the backlighting bulbs. I just did the latter but it did the trick. I did my bulbs and reflectors at the same time as my speedo gear which was stuffed.

I replaced all backlighting and warning lights. Actually, I found 3 light holes without lights, between the volt meter and oil pressure gauges. I put in lights, non-led, as it seems those will light a blank area.
