hard start when temp is below 40 F

Car starts fine excepts when it gets real cold. Its been doing this the last few yrs and since i havent been driving it in cold weather i never fixed it. Now i want it fixed!. Car is 86 turbo.....i replaced fuel filter, and fuel pump check valve.. but i haven't ever replaced plugs in 15K miles since i've owned it over 5 yrs. Any other suggestions

Possibly the DME temp sensor. Like a $20 part, get the Bosch. Easy to install and remove. It senses when the engine is cold and enriches the fuel mixture until it warms up.

I'll assume that was towards OP, however I run 20w50 and have no start issues, coldest I've started is 36 degrees now. According to the owner's manual, porsche says 20w50 can be used down to around 10-15 degrees F

My car has been having a hard time starting lately now that's cold and almost didn't think it was going to start while cranking it today. What are the part numbers for the DME temp sensor and fuel check valve for an 84? I have tried to look them up before but don't want to order the wrong parts.

This check valve? 944-608-951-01-M14 Pelican Parts - Product Information: 944-608-951-01-M14

As for the temp sensor, referencing this thread: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-924-944-968-technical-forum/184320-temp-sensor-dme.html

Would appear that this: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/smart/more_info.cgi?pn=944-606-125-00-M14&catalog_description=DME%20Temperature%20Sensor%20% 2820C%202%20Pin%2C%20Blue%29%2C%20924S%2F944%2F968 %20All%20%2802%2F85-89%29%2C%20Each%20

Is indeed the correct sensor. Idk why PP has it listed as 85/2+

When it's cold in the morning I'm hard to start up, but I'm old as dirt. It'll be 27* in the morning.

Cheers,
Larry

It's hard to start me up in the morning whether it's cold or not! And I'm not old...yet.
