928 dash failure
My 1978 928 has a reocuuring dashboard failure. Sometimes when I start the engine all dashboard instruments fail including dahoard light. Is this related to the adjusting of the steering with dashboard pod? Is there a fix?

If the left or right side fails individually, the problem is normally a blown/corroded fuse. Since both sides of yours are failing, the problem is either a corroded ground wire under the dash, a crack in the printed circuit card (behind the gauges), or a bad/corroded connection at the multipin connector on the printed circuit card.

Hi Dennis,
Thank you for your respons. I think the ground wire is cousing the trouble. I've heard it is sort of a sliding ground because of the adjustable pod. The instruments mostly come back into live when I put the steering/pod in the upper position. |

Most problems with pod lights & gauges seem to be related to grounding. If you've not found it already, Rennlist is the place for 928 fanatics. Pelican is stronger for 911's.
