In the Conquest/Starion world, it was decided by both butt dyno and ¼ mile drag results that a 'recirculated' system actually provided quicker spool times between shifts than a 'blow off' system.

I think the argument of running rich between shifts is pretty moot, as it's barely enough to even cause a puff of smoke during shifts. I never saw any adverse side effects from running a BOV on my MAS equipped Conquest, and as with the Porsche that was the biggest argument against using a BOV, "You'll go rich. Use a BPV instead...".

I think I'll stick with a BPV on the 951, as that Blow off sound just doesn't go with the car, IMO. Although I'll likely upgrade to a higher quality unit.

I choose to hear the sounds of the vehicle. I have had a track session where a vac line came loose and the first thing I noticed was the sound change from the bov.

Benefits/problems are nil for sure, as is the same with running (Maybe...) rich during upshifts or llifting whilst on boost. The very same kit I mentioned comes with bits to recycle it back in and I have run it both ways (just to satify all of the "end of the world" warnings and rumors. No differance in afrs were realized.... My 2 cents and worth only what was paid...
Yeah, I think I overreacted to the Rothmann's allusion, thinking you meant to insinuate that since the racing cars used a BOV that it must be better than a diverter valve.

And you're right that going rich isn't all that terrible, in fact, it's probably a wash, though it will do nasty things to a catalytic converter over time (assuming that one still has a catalytic converter) and it will necessitate more frequent spark plug and oil changes.

Try a Forge Motorsport BOV.. They make a recirculating valve with a third exit

They are in good price.. 175, and have Forge quality

Plus they are adjustable..
