964 c2 vs C4 prices trying to buy one

I’ve been looking for a 964 for a few months now, what’s the price difference between c4 and c2? I keep seeing prices all over the place. It’s been hard finding a good one for sale from a reasonable seller

Difference in price apples to apples C2 v C4 (Coupe 5 spd) is about 20%. C2 coupes are hottest pcars right now. You'll need at least $60k to get a sorted driver example with history. I follow the market pretty closely. Lots of polished turds out there. Can't emphasize the importance of a thorough PPI enough. Repairs bills can add up quickly on neglected examples.

This example got bid up to $45k on BAT today and looks like a disaster. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-porsche-911-carrera-4-12/

If your looking to get into the market in the $40s or so look for a cab. Plenty of nice examples seem to pop up.

maybe someone can post that picture of the singer "plant" where they have like 20 of them sitting waiting to be converted? singer gobbling the best examples up makes the task of finding one just that much harder.

Singer needs a chassis and a clean VIN number. Why would you pay top dollar for a 964 to send to Singer and wait 2 years. I'd look for a high miles tip car to send to them. Why cut up a nice one with so few remaining

Because people with Singer money have money to burn. A recent real nice ROW C2 that just sold on BAT is going off the Singer. Damn shame.

Didn't the buyer just purchase a 70 million dollar Ferrari last year? $85k? This is couch money to him, $50k has no statistical significance in that world and he obviously wanted the best available just because he can. Plus, he already has a Singer, this car will become a DLS.

Get in touch with Cobalt. He's on pelican. He is the go-to for info on good 964's.

That's still strong money - considering you couldn't, wouldn't and it would not have been even remotely possible to get half that money 7 years ago.

The crazy thing is that 964 c2 manual coupes are still going up in price. I thought for sure they would have be done last year. But still on the increase.

Coupes being the important word here. There is a Targa for sale in the For Sale section now that's not getting much action at $37K. Say what you want, but any US Targa 964 is a rare car.

$4,000 - $5000 maybe the gap between the two assuming they are in the same condition

And that targa is a tip -- huge difference in price between a tip and manual. Most people I know will not even look at a tip!
