I’ll agree they are equally undesirable,
but that shows my bias. I’m not terribly fond of 964s on the whole.

I like the car.... I'm $50k bid all day long on it, assuming it is what the OP says it is with no surprises. I actually prefer the classic flag mirrors.

I don’t think so unless the 74-75 is a US Carrera.

Why would anybody buy a 964 when they could buy a 911?

A 3.6 and a g50 and full coilover suspension? I dont like the look but the technology and performance improvements are undeniable.

An 89 without the engine TSB being addressed and if it still has the original DMF $50k is tops if this were addressed you should see closer to $70k at 51k miles. Those are low miles in 964 terms and rarely see them with less miles that are actual miles.
I don't see the 964 market flattening. Just too much junk on the market for cars with deferred maintenance or hidden accident damage. I rare see a 964 coupe for sale that doesn't have poor repairs or expensive needs for sale anymore. When they do surface they are gone in a flash at whatever the seller is asking.

So... I don't follow 964, but did peek at the Excellence guide from last month when this thread started. depending on spec, it says most models are a low of 25-30 and a high of 50-60. You guys all seem to be calling 50k around the median price on these cars. Is Excellence really that far off on market values?

On the plus side, '89 964 had no airbags!
Curious as to why this car isn't already being used as an occasional track day car (the reason mentioned for putting up for sale in the first post).. I've always thought the 964 just right in this regard.

Recent comp: Not sure the asking but I assume well over $70k and sold in less than a week. https://www.holtmotorsports.com/inventory/1992-Porsche-Carrera-2-coupe/420365 BAT example. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-porsche-carrera-2-13/ Original - rare color examples (low mileage) are traded in the lower 6 figure range. Couple of examples below. I believe this Mint sold for roughly $140k recently. 19k miles. ![]() Also Zuckerman paid over a $100k for his Maritime Blue car a couple of years ago.
