Thanks guys... gotta figure out if I want to let it go as is or get busy bringing it back to life.. but appreciate all the commentary.

Like I said I have all the components I've had all the components I need to convert it including another 901 5 speed transaxle.. I could never bring myself to do it though. The Sporto is a power sponge but it sounds so lovely and hydraulic especially with the rear window down... and hey its really only 130 hp anyway so no rocket .. kind of a ladies car.

Tnanks alll !

Please don't convert it. It's too rare of a car with the colors and sporto option.

1. Don't convert it.

2. A sporto is not a power sponge. It has no torque converter it has a clutch and direct power transmission. It's why it's special.

The time and urge to convert is long gone. I could never bring myself to do it .

It does have a torque converter for idle in gear and elctro-pneumatically operated clutch via mircoswitch in base of shift lever for on the fly clutch disengagement... works really well can be adjusted to suit.. but is a power sponge.

The sound can't be beat..

Wow, the memories.. my 1st Porsche was a 67 911S Soft Window Targa! With the rotted front pan and the bad heat exchangers its a wonder I didn't die in that car!
