I have seen wild swings in the 1973.5 CIS T's in the past year since I have been looking for an early 911. Low water mark for a somewhat decent car that has needs I have seen in the mid teens to the flat rediculous 40+ for the concours models.
I need serious help with the following car and what you think it should price out at to be considered fair -- I do not want to get burned on this deal. 1973.5 T, matching numbers, no rust, 3k miles on fully rebuilt engine and transmission, new clutch, all records since 1973, one respray in original color (pretty good finish still), no sunroof, no a/c, all original parts in place except tensioners, turbo valve covers, SSI exchangers, pointless ignition, new batts, new brakes, new shocks The only negatives seem to be door pockets that could use freshening up, carpet faded in front, radio doesnt work and the usual rock chips on the front. I am not looking for concours but a weekend driver and this one seems to be very well cared for. Where should I expect the price to be? Last edited by jetdriver21; 09-03-2007 at 06:50 AM.. |

A nice RUST FREE 73.5 911T coupe shuld easily be worth mid 20's. If it's in a desirable color too, with only minor cosemtic issues, I would lean more toward 30k. With all mechanicals in order, complete doc's ( C of A etc) and few previous owners, I would put the car in the low 30's.

Agree. High 20s to 30K.

These days, almost every Tom, Dick and Helmut is selling cars with "3k miles on rebuilt engine/transmission". It sounds like after waiting 1k miles of breakin, they decide to sell. Just make sure that you have records of who did engine rebuild, tranny rebuild etc, as there would be a colossal difference between MM vs one of esteemed talents that frequent here such as Steve W or JW or someone like that.
All records since 73 (day one) is good, repaint in original is good, mechanically it would seem to be well taken care of from your description. Don't forget door pockets and radio will set you back a few hundred each, carpet and interior even more, plus if you don't have sport seats etc it all adds up and can cost a pretty penny (few $k) Good PPI and no-rust-actually-means-no-rust should be kept in mind. $20's ... hard to say without pics etc.

25K is a fair price.....
But, no sunroof, no AC? Southern climate? You will have a hard time selling it if it does have a sunroof or working AC. Unless of course you do not care about these. Drive a 911 without a sunroof or AC in the summer in the south and you'd wish you'd have anything that has four wheels and keeps you cool inside. The AC systems are weak to begin with! It will cost a pretty penny to install an OEM AC system in any 911, especially the 73.5T model. My old 1979 SC with black interior had no AC or sunroof and I cursed the asphalt I drove over everyday (I-285). Good Luck BR 1973.5T Sepia of course ![]() |
