Curious for opinions on SWB 911 cars with the following characteristics.
Correct color repaint (complete disassembly) with some minor blemishes but very respectable. Correct OEM trim except for headlights. Excellent interior with little show of wear - clearly redone but with OEM NOS skins. Sunroof in perfect order. Later motor - - - 2.4 I think but not sure. 1967 correctly date coded steel wheels. No rust tub, never crashed or repaired. Glass is very good or better condition, no delamination. Missing radio and fog lights. |

Don't see too many SWB 911's with a sunroof. Does it have the exterior gutter drains? Is it a normal, T, or S - and what is the color?

Assuming we are talking about a 911 normale, and it is truly rust free, I would guess its worth in the mid $20's with the wrong motor. Sounds like a fun car with a 2.4 motor - even a 2.4T. The 2.4T has about as much torque as a 2.0S motor, just not the balls upstairs.
Does it still have the original suspension (i.e. rear non ventilated discs and front non S calipers, Koni's etc)? Is it running Webbers, and has a 5 speed (not 4 speed)? If so, definitely mid 20's or more. If it had the right motor, and some goodies on it like Fuchs wheels, Cibie hood lights, S brakes etc, it would easily be worth $40's... Hell, 1966-67 911S's are going for $60k-110k right now. And the really clean SWB 912's are now selling in the 20's. A really clean 911 normale should trade somewhere between that. Just one person's opinion. Would be interested in others as well. |

Thanks for the initial thoughts, here is more info.
Yes, correct suspension and brake systems. Non S car. Not sure about 4 or 5 speed - good question... Yes, Webbers. Color is that ivory yellowish color. Repaint but correct color (Sand I think its called). No special equipment other than noted. Gutter drains - yep. AZ car as I am told now living in the midwest. |

I think you could get $40's for your car. For some reason 68 model year 911's are not as sought after as the 67 cars, due to little things like the side marker lights, elephant hide door panels, and non chrome bezel gauges, sugar scoop headlights instead of the sealed hellas.
The L model was essentially an S without the motor ![]() |

Don't know your age or your IQ but I do know that nobody here jumped your case and that if any nagging has been done it's been from you. blau911 knows his Porsche's and is a straight shooter. I have met him before and he has helped me in the past with getting my '73 up to snuff. So in this case at least you are going after the wrong guy....

I mean to be honest I have recieved multiple mid-teens offers on my 912 with a 66 911 engine installed. Most like it because it has the basic feel of the 912 with power of a 2.0. Of course my engine is like brand new and bored out to 2.2 and has an electromotive ignition so I am sure that helps the high offers. But if a beautiful, 3 owner 66 912 coverted to 911 engine can get 16-17 then of course a perfect 911 is going to get 40-60.

The people are out there who will pay $50K for a '68 S. But they aren't fools. They will demand every scrap of evidence of provenance for that price and the car will be thoroughly inspected.
Estimating what someone might pay for a car based on a couple paragraphs and a photo is a fool's game.

I disagree, I personally do not care anything about evidence of anything when I buy a car. Don't care about service records or anything. I do my own PPI, check everything and then buy it or leave it. I would pay $50,000 on the spot, unplanned if I liked a 1967S. I think its split two ways: the cool guys who will just buy and the "dorks" that care about the paperwork and such. To each his own though.
