The dist. is a 007 - 69-71 MFI S full centrifugal advance type , cylinders are alloy ,not cast iron , I dont use the facet pumps because they tend to quit without warning ! Car actually belongs to a customer who got it by trading a HONDA accord for it 20 years ago .

all makes sense now, if its the customers money then carry on regardless we were just all concerned you were spending and working too much on an ultimately worthless car. All the best.

POSSIBLE BACKDATE IS ON THE TABLE NOW , but first I got the green light to do both engine and trans teardown estimates this week , then brakes ,pedal assembly interior , prep body for repaint , maybe put back to 70 on the body .We are going to also pull all a/c out of the car as this would be cost and labor prohibitive to restore

Yes , the car has 6x16, 7x16 on it real FUCHS , we dismounted the rotted P-7 tires and they have been sent out to be refinished , they were chromed ! but it is peeling everywhere, caps are like new even after sitting , and are also being polished .

SO here is an update on what was done so far , rnr motor , complete teardown and evaluation of all parts . Engine was absolutley filthy and oily , due to sitting in a field and all the case sealant , the old gorilla snot crap that was used to seal the case and heads etc. was dried and gone , the big suprise is what was on the inside , found 2.4S MAHLES , measured well within specs , just oily from leaks , 2.4/2.7 crank and rods ! found bearings with erosion from sitting in one place and dry but crank journals are perfect ! measured all within std. specs , Then found 2.0S camshafts #109/110 FROM A 67/68 S car .The case is a 2.2r with no updates at all done to it .The cyl heads will need a complete rebuilds due to early guides /wear and slight marring on ce ring surfaces , crankshaft will be checked and cleaned micropolished , rods rebuilt , rockers rebuilt , two of the rockers are the later style . NEXT , on to the trans .

That's going to make for a nice little hot rod motor when you are done with it. Just shows that not every car found in a field should be dismissed as useless and worthless.

I finaly had time this week to teardown the 915 box , all the numbers were ground off the bottom but prod . date stamps are 11-74 , still an early mag case 915 witha cable speedo , cable was broken too. Now for the bad news , now I know why car was parked , found fifth gear teeth broken and parts in bottom of tail housing , slider is toast ,all due to the needle bearing giving up due to low or no oil in trans .Further teardown inspection found no other broken parts , dogteeth are good , but will need to replace main and pinion shaft bearings as these are heavily worn on the races .I will post some post teardown pics soon .

I had some spare time this week to work on the field car , so here is the latest , performed a teardown estimate on the 915 box , found the 5th gear broken , sent the caseses to be cleaned , both engine and trans , also I was able to locate a good used 5th gear set and hub , to replace the brokens .Here are some pics of the carnage in the rear cover , what is hard to see is the dog teeth are actually warped from the impact ! by about 2mm .
