To me its a 35k car if immaculate with those miles. Its also not totally stock which I think is a negative.

The extra 15k is for the "silver anniversary" edition I guess. No clue if the rarity adds that much, it wouldn't for me.

I don't see why the Silver Anniversary is so special to command that kind of premium. A Club Sport, sure, but a special badge...?

Miles are too high. That sort of price is reserved for a car with 1/3 of the miles.

I think you should consult with cprclassic.com and see what they think about your car, which to me is woth every penny of your asking price. Very few out there like this one. Very few

Heman, for someone with 8 posts and one thread deleted because it led to drama you will have to excuse my skepticism with respect to your value and recommended site.

30K car at best, imo.

Looks like it was repainted. Look at the close up of the door sill - and the Carrera badge sits too low.

"Updated" Muffler and mirrors not helping the price either.

Let "heman" buy it

Looks like a very nice high 30s car to me... but the photos are too small to support anything past $37-38K. It's possible that in person, the car would break $40K because of the sensory qualities, but as Christian points out, there are a couple details that may not be spot on.

And remember, some 3.2s had valve guide issues that revealed themselves at 50-70K miles...

well I'm sure dealers price an extra $5 - 10K into cars like this for "negotiation" or the hope that an uninformed buyer will come along that just has to have it.

it would be really interesting to find out what cars like this actually sell for, vs. the asking price - the Bid / Ask spread, if we were in a commodities market. That number helps to determine what the market demand is, i.e. how "solid" is the market.

Yes, I agree, its priced a little high, but an attractive car nonetheless. Looks well maintained and the mirrors and exhaust are nice upgrades, however those SSIs would keep it out of California.

What?????

"nice upgrades" for what the dealer claims to be collector grade. A lot of people pumping this car - It almost feels like the stock market! Funny stuff!

If the car was immaculate I think that techs´ estimates would be in the ballpark.

Sloan Cars has several low mileage 911s (under 10K) and they are priced in the $70K range. That's collector mileage.

This car is a "nice weather driver" at least to me - and the "last year" bump is not to be overlooked. It will probably sell for a serious offer of 40 - 42K

I don't understand the super low mileage cars. They can't be enjoyed because of their mileage without losing massive value and in 20 years, condition will end up trumping odometer readings, right?

They are to be looked at and not driven. I don't get it either.

I had a neighbor with a '67 (I think) GTO like that. It never saw sunlight.

One thing I overlooked - an anniversary edition without the signatures on the head crests!

Edit.....

Did not know the difference between the CE model and the Anniversary - seems that the anniversary has no signatures on the seats. My mistake!

Agreed if it is your only toy car but if you are a collector, a guy who owns a bunch of cars, it makes all kinds of sense. A collector with several cars has fun driving each one just occasionally and also gets to stare at them in his man cave.

A buddy of mine collects motorcycles - he is up to 20 now and every one of them is pristine, low mileage and most are unusual models/special editions. He doesn't have the time to put significant miles on more than one or two that he uses for regular riding.

I just looked at those pics...that is an amazingly clean 70k 911. Honestly, to make an OK 911 into that condition would cost 10s of 1000s. I would say great car overall that someone can love for a long time guilt free assuming the take after it.

The late 80s 911s are clearly running up in values and I would not be surprised if this sale was seen as a deal in 12-18 months.

Congratulations to the buyer...enjoy in the best of health!
