Some nice pics here of great cars.

If I may add a small something here, NEVER change the original colour. Disregard completely those who say it's your car and do what you want with it. Sell it if you don't like the scheme, but stick with the original code. Car 101. Some people may think differently, but they are wrong.. :-)

The issue of keeping the original color, especially Sepia Brown has been ongoing for years on Pelican. For me, originality is everything! I have often mentioned that it was Dr. Porsche who came up with Sepia Brown and it was his favorite color. So much so, that he painted his 928 Sepia. When Sepia was introduced it was the age of the rainbow colors that were popular. Driving an Orange, Electric Blue, Lime Green, Bright Yellow, etc, etc import, especially a Porsche was the way to go. The Sepia must have been conservative back then and appealed to more conservative tastes. As a Porsche salesman once remarked, "it was the gentlemens color" back in those days. So here I introduce my 1973.5T 911 in original Sepia Brown accented by "S" trim, wheel well chrome trim and Fuch wheels. The longer I have owned it, the greater the positive responses. Keep it original, why would you choose any other color?

Sepia is a nice color when it is kept up. I have seen a lot of Sepia cars with dull oxidized paint, which then makes this color look horrible. If Sephia is buffed to the highest of sheens, then it looks very good. I had the oportunity to buy a 73 Sephia T with a tan interior about five years back for 10k. It was badly faded, and I did not buy, partially because of the color.

I like Sepia.

10 years ago, most folks were either 'kinda like it' or 'really hate it'. Now most folks are either 'really love it' or 'kinda hate it'. Style and perceptions change. This color represents the 70s well.

I have owned this for 27 years. My brother owned it for 12 years before that.
The color has always been curious & contentious.
It does look best when highly polished.
It is a conservative color, as I get older I like it as is.

The greens & blues & yellows & oranges are all snappy. Red, white, ho hum; black sharp.

Harold,
Keep it sepia braun and spend the money on a quality repaint so the brown has a deep gloss to it.
I had a 73.5 911T in sepia, and it got all of the attention whenever parked...
I was never a big fan of the brown interior of my car, but it was perfect. So I was stuck with it ;-)

Sepia with tan interior looks great. I would keep it brown and try for a deep gloss.

I say keep the Brown. Original is where it's at right now. Plus Brown is such a 70s color. Love it!

I don't care for sepia. I personally think it was one of the worst colors ever put on a 911. Probably second only to raspberry . However, I believe wholeheartedly in keeping these cars original. If it is a matching numbers car then yes , paint it sepia. If it doesn't have its original drivetrain then paint it whatever you want.

Paint it any color you want then order a new blank paint number plate and some rivets and stamp the color code of your preferred color and rivet it to the door jamb. When people ask why the color code doesn't match the Porsche factory build sheet certificate, just tell them the factory always makes mistakes on the certificate. Lots of people do this. I'm surprised you don't know this... It's no secret.
