How close to original is important 993

I have a 95 993 coupe I,m selling in a month or two. I am in Florida and the car is stored away up north.
The car has all the usual improvements important to the enthusiast crowd here.
Pss9 suspension, mo30 sways ,FVD polished stainless mufflers ,Alpine aftermarket stereo with amp in trunk , strut brace ,red painted stock calipers . PCA window sticker etc
Which parts if any should I remove or will it matter? I was thinking of repainting the calipers black and removing the PCA sticker.
I have the original stereo in a box. The original mufflers were stolen
The car has about 113000 mi with a new clutch and no leaks BUT has been a driver.
Unlike the Corvette hobby (where numbers matching hose clamps seem important to some) what about a car like this.
I,m not talking about a turbo car with 800 hp which will scare a lot of potential buyers but a standard car with improvements done over it,s lifetime.
Should I remove the strut brace and not mention the other stuff or what?

You are on the right track. To be blunt, the red calipers and aftermarket radio/amp would turn me off. if only because 99 out of 100 times those are mods that are done poorly and by people with bad taste. The rest sounds like high quality, easily reversed upgrades. Do you have the factory wheels on it?

Factory 17,s ,nothing visible on the outside, no giant spoilers or wings except the calipers which were painted several years ago.
The amp is under the carpet up front and the Alpine stereo looks sort of period correct.
The car is a fairly basic/simple C2 ,sunroof,(works but seldom used)
ABD(LSD)., power standard seats. Polar silver, black leather
PMs are already arriving asking for pics . I don,t have any with me worth sending as uploads take forever on a roaming cell phone. I can,t sell it from here anyway as it,s locked up in a garage behind a snowdrift.

Remove the sticker, paint the calipers, do a super-duper detail and include the original parts. The expensive original part (the exhaust) has already been stolen, and this would be the most time-consuming piece to put on. The other stuff you can't really see except for the red calipers, which to me remind me of some late '90s Ferrari and I believe the look of red calipers has come and gone. I just bought a car with red calipers, and I don't know why he did it. Leave them black please.

No Johnsjmc has owned this car about 6 or 7 years. I,ve owned other 911,s but only one at a time and some as long as 15 yrs . I have a nagging left knee injury and an automatic is in my future. I bought this car to keep forever but the knee is only getting worse. after putting it in my wifes name a year ago , so we could keep it. She hasn,t driven it even once. I still end up driving it if we take it out.

Only the mufflers were changed by a PO ,the cat and HE,s are oem. I had the mufflers stored and a scrap metal thief helped themselves

I would sell 993 as is.
The car looks like a well sorted driver.
GLWS
We have a winter home in the Tampa area and have become what they locally call "snowbirds".
Our summer ,full time home is under a lot of snow right now, and that,s where the car is.

That's last year's pricing.

I tried to buy a silver/grey 993 similar to yours 100k miles last year for 40k and couldn't get the deal done. I would have bought
yours if it was available then.

Silver car with red calipers, polished mufflers and suspension upgrades, what's not to like about your 993.
I consider these mods a plus and upgrade.

I bought a 993 two years ago - it had:

Big Kenesis wheels
Fiberglass turbo tail
Fabspeed Cat and Mufflers (loud)
Huge amp in the trunk
Clear corner markers
Pep Boys steering wheel (actually a tiny, garish Momo but it looked like a Pep Boys style)

I purchased the car for a good price and fortunately it at least had the original tail and steering wheel. I've spent quite a bit of money and time bringing it back to completely stock (including wheels and exhaust). It runs fantastic and I'm very happy with the purchase. I'd have wanted a stock one to begin with but 993s are getting scarce.

In my opinion some of the things you've mentioned are negatives and a turn off. It didn't stop me but it probably will to a lot of buyers.

Having just sold my second car on the BAT auctions, I definately recommend that venue for your 993. I think $35K leaves about $10K on the table as my '88 just sold for near $35K and I'd consider a 993 much more valuable.

I agree with repainting the calipers. I'd also probably good to remove the strut brace but I'm not a big fan of bolt-on parts unless it's for a track car. When I see a car with speed-related bolt ons I usually get worried that the car has been tracked or owned by someone that drove it like it was stolen.

Otherwise it sounds like a great driver and I would market it as such. To appeal to the widest market I'd return the car to "daily driver" and remove stuff that gets in the way of enjoying the car on a commute. Therefore things like upgraded suspension, aftermarket stereo are ok in my book as these make the car more enjoyable. Things like strut bars take away from it as it eats up trunk space.

I would sell it as is, the modifications listed are very common.

Post it for sale on Rennlist, they have a very active 993 section and following there.

I'd leave as is. Once you pass x (actual up for debate) miles, the car exits collectible status and hits driver status. Buyers of drivers appreciate the types of upgrades you describe; those that improve the driving experience and are reversible.

Depending upon condition, it's a $40-45k vehicle.

Hi John. I sold mine last spring and have some regrets especially as prices have only gotten stronger but mostly because I will never be able to replace that car for various reasons. I sold local but selling into the US will net you 20% more although this presents more difficulties. All the upgrades shouldn't hurt the sell price. Anybody who knows 993s realizes that your upgrades are very worthwhile. Polar/black is a great combo.

Did it go with that sweet close ratio g-50 I passed on to you ? or did you remove and sell it separately??

It went with the close ratio box. A good deal for the guy that bought it. I was never able to get the bouncy idle fixed (LWF issue) but he didn't seem to mind.
