Nope. I have a 75 but she isn't for sale and most likely never will be. I'm a fan of the narrow bodies myself. I know itzame is looking for a sub $20k 911 so I passed the link on to him. I know this car though- before the current reseller owned it that is. Used to see it around my area and yes it needs some work. Here is another 911 the guy is selling.

1976 Porsche 911 S Targa

She is a looker too.

The car was originally posted for that. The seller is an honest guy and knows what he has. I think the price is pretty fair and I'll pick that car up just have to figure out where I'll be towing it (hiding it) and estimating how much more money will be spent to getting it to at least a comfortable summer daily.

Out of curiosity what was his asking price? How low did he sell it to the flipper for? Was it posted for sale anywhere? Didn't see it listed for sale locally until I saw the slippers ad and thought "I know that car"

The one I'm talking about was a car in craigslist PA. No pics, no vin, no price. He wouldn't give me an asking price and kept telling me to make an offer, I told him 10k and he said ok I'm free this weekend. I was surprised and asked him if we are on the same page with price just double checking and he said ya. Ended up selling for around 12k he claims but who knows..

You're buying the 1986 you posted earlier?
I am curious how that plays out.

Most people would say you are not in any position to be buying a neglected 911.
You'd be better off saving up more money and buying a better car.
But whatever, please send us updates on how the project goes.

The bad; a rust out spot on top of the RH door sill at the rear, before the kick-up. the LH sill feels solid in that area.

No other rust out found on the car.
Uh huh

NOPE. Did not end up buying it. Seller still has it posted. I made an offer of 20k cash, basically take it or leave it. I thought it was a pretty fair offer and don't feel inclined to go out of my way to try to get more.

I believe in things that happen for a reason. If I don't get it I'll wait patiently and get one after I graduate. Will keep this thread alive once I come across the next one or end up buying one.

The rust is repairable but as everyone knows there could be a nightmare of repairs hiding under the paint. Not in a rush.

Yup saw that. Not too bad if someone has the room and tools to do it.

And there isn't any guarantee it won't need motor maintenance anytime soon.

It doesn't look bad considering it has so much RED on it. It looks cared for at least. I think $35K is optimistic, but who knows. The seats are pretty cool. It's not so over-the-top to make it cheesy. For some reason the one-color Fuchs look right on there.

For one, removing ONE detail would make it so much more desirable. Please remove the Turbo script and find a period 911S badge.
