seems more oil cooler than a reinforcement,
It is typical Uk style to install coolers and oil tanks well clear...

that's indeed the very first 1973 Frankfurt presentation of the turbo, interesting to note the rsr fender flares (IROC ) the 9/11 fuchs set up and the lightweight bumpers also IROC / '74...
