That will get you there ,use your best penetrant and after the heating the case it would have expanded enough to "wick in" to the gap created by heating.

I agree ,clean the oil off ,heat around the casing but don't go crazy hot, heat it once then spray penetrant on while still hot ,repeat again and let it cool ,it should undo fine.
Used this method...

Yep thats what I used but 8 inch,warped flanges on my muffler ,take your time and check with a straight edge, new factory gaskets and all is good.

Interesting I had spill over @ 3.2 psi dropped back to 3.0 psi and problem solved ,new float valves and levels checked with PMO level gauge also .

Good result, well done, however you may want up the fuel pressure ,don't have Webers but run my Zenith carbs regulated to 3 psi and no issues ,think Weber spec is 3.5 to 4.0 from memory .

I can only assume the oil feed hole is blocked and the lower bush is seizing ,heat is traveling up the shaft as a result,maybe time to pull that one asap and look for a replacement before it locks up...

The angle of the linkage is dictated by cylinder offset,make sure you check/replace linkage ball cups,most of mine were rather worn on my motor,it makes a real difference when setting up carbs.

I agree 100% I never trust electric gauges until checked,not worth the gamble in the OP's case with a new build.
If the sender unit is correctly matched it could be a bad gauge unit.

I have stockish 2.2T with rebuilt Zeniths ,running 125 mains,52 idles and 30mm vents,stock pump jets and air correctors ,starts and runs nice .
Don't believe the stories about lack of parts supply...
