Glovebox won'''''''''''''''''t open

I have a 1988 bmw 325IX and I can't get the glovebox open.. It isn't locked. The handle lifts up but, the door doesn't open!! Anyone know what to do?

I have taken the three nuts off that hold the rear hinge in place But, I still can't get it open.. I have tried to shake and twist the whole glovebox and still nothing. I ws able to get my arm up behind the box and reach inside and nothing is binding.. Even if I had to force something and have to order a new part, I don't know what to do!

I'm going by the shop tonight and I'll look at the one we have out back and get an idea about how to get it open.

Try prying down the glovebox right near the hinge a little bit. You should be able to see the 2 philips head screws that hold the latches hook. Just unscrew them and it should just fall right out.

I now have the two philips out that are at the center behind the door. I tried to pull down on the door but, the door doesn't drop down far enough to unlatch.

Do I pull down on the handle or the door itself after the two screws are removed?
