BMW Roundel Best way to get an LSD into the diff?

Hi folks. I would like to do a project on LSDs for the new BMW book I'm working on. Trouble is, I don't know too much about the E36 LSDs and what's available, and for how much. Any good sources of info out there, or does anyone want to share their knowledge?

The E36 LSD is designed to be replaced as a unit. Essentially, you repalce the entire diff. Korman Autoworks has a 4:10 ratio LSD, that bolts right in. I know Quaife makes some pretty good units as well. I think you can even take an auto diff from the E36 automatic, and use the carrier gears (3:91) in a LSD diff.

I think he means the differential that was used with the automatic transmission. Same as the manual, but a different ring and pinion ratio.
