wow I am suprised mine works very effectivly.. Careful with the clear line as it can't handle the high heat of the oil for very long

Ok, so here's the deal at the moment. I put the clear line in for a test...Ben, that line is rated for 70 degrees, so it's just for the demonstration to myself. The line drains pretty well, actually. Theses photos are with the engine running, with about 20 PSI inlet oil pressure at the turbo at fast idle.
I just did a leakdown on the engine, and it is pretty much 94% except for #5, which is around 80%. The air hisses back up from the plug opening, so either the hose is not seated well in the 14mm plug hole (I did it dry at first and had 70%, and then anti-seized the crap out of the hose fitting, and got it up to about 80-85%), or there is something else weird going on. Next stop is the valve covers coming off. Did I mention this problem has been exacerbated since I switched to Mobil 1 15W-50 after the second oil dumping? Pat

You may be right. I just inspected #5, ad I don't see anything out of the ordinary. I'm going to fill it with straight 30 weight and try to get the rings seated better. It still doesn't have but a couple of hundred miles on it, tops.

Ok, here's the latest test, which I think is pretty definitive. Car smokes after a few minutes of warmup, and badly on decel down to idle.
I hooked up the boost line to the blowgun of my air compressor, and sent 7 PSI to the wastegate. I had the car warmed up and smoking. The wastegate opened and no smoke came out. So, the guess is the internals of the engine are just fine, and the turbine seal went on vacation. This is all quite educational, albeit a massive PITA.

Ben:
I spoke to Tim yesterday. He will take care of it. I will tell you that Tim understands the concept of Customer Service, and is a pleasure to deal with. He has answered every phone call or email, and takes the time to go over the symptoms and such. I just about have the turbo back out now. Built4, I'll post some photos. You're welcome to come on down to NJ and change my #1 spark plug and see just how roomy it is!! Pat

Last update for this post:
I broke down and put the electric oil pump in, with a catch can. The Rajay is very finicky...if I park on an uphill, the car will smoke for a short time, less than a minute. Otherwise, it's fine. Had to put in a new auxilliary thermostat, the old one failed by bypassing too much oil, of all things, even though the thermostat portion stll worked fine. Put in a new Setrab cooler in the fenderwell, with a full custom aluminum shroud and Spal fan (I bring the fan on with a Honeywell remote bulb thermostat strapped to the oil line, the controller looks somewhat out of place bolted into the trunk). The car seems to run fine, my AFR's are in the mid 12's, 11's on boost. I reset the timing on the stock SC distributor to 5 BTDC (I had tried to emulate the 930 timing by retarding it a bit, but the car ran like crap). The water injection comes on at 3 PSI boost, and drops the temperatures down to whatever is entering the airbox. I may have to change nozzles at the track when I can stay on the boost longer. I have 5 PSI total boost. I'm making positive manifold pressure at part throttle (2200 RPM) going up the mountain where I live. The car seems to be pretty peppy. It's like a normal SC up to about 3200 RPM, then pulls really hard up to 7000 RPM. Gotta change the ugly 18 lb Flowmaster for my new lightweight M&K this week, then its off for corner balance and dyno. My fear is that the dyno will say 195 HP, and I will only then realize the performance gains are a figment of my imagination. Pat
