Thanks Sand man. I missed that somehow. I love that one.

Reaper, you'd better give us an update quick, this thread is on the verge of being highjacked by some flat black Italian car.

Reaper930 07-30-2008 08:15 AM

Yeah yeah...I wish i had something - that lambo is too 'pretty' albeit a nice ride.

The shop is putting the gold foil on the intake manifold - hopefully i'll have more later. Weidman should be getting the rear wheels to narrow in the next two days or so...i'll give ya'll something soon.

jjwood 07-30-2008 02:56 PM

Yo Reap -- DO NOT GET CARRIED AWAY W/THAT GOLD FOIL! THE LAST THING WE'D WANT TO SEE IS A GOLD FOIL STRIPE RUNNING THE LENGTH...then again might be...NAW!

Reaper930 07-31-2008 02:12 AM

Haha, yeah I talked to the shop yesterday and after some decisions the foil didn't look like we thought it would on the manifold so we're going to use it as a heat shield on the rear bumper (inside).

The wing blade is being installed and the motor, 4 speed tranny and Tilton 3 plate clutch ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$) are going in this next week.

Weekly pic update

Just some random pics of the car - my dad went out to Cali and saw the car, and took some pics. Its amazing how the higher resolution of his camera makes the paint look so much deeper even in direct sunlight.

Serge!!!!! The red was beautiful but I know you're always doing crazy things - what color is it going to be now?

Love that bumper!

935TURBO 07-31-2008 10:44 PM

Hi Reaper,

That's only the "undercoat".....it'll be "L80K"......;)

But......with a very very good news........it'll be a.....934/5.....till the end......;)

kycarguy 935 08-03-2008 02:34 PM

Looking good Reaper.

Reaper930 08-04-2008 02:18 AM

Okay, a heads up on the project...

Steering wheel was purchased from Carnewal in Belgium its a Porsche Motorsport dished GT3 wheel in black alcantara with yellow center stripe with Porsche horn button. It was hard for me to choose between this wheel and the MOMO Prototipo (sp?) but in the end the combination of high tech and old school is better suited to my tastes than just a striaght clone of the original.

I decided to get a CDOC quick release for the wheel & momo hub, our Host provided the Rennline track mats, & "twin turbo" script steel entry plates.

The shop is fitting the wing and the steering wheel will be in Van Nuys today and it was ordered two days ago!

Gert from Carnewal is THE MAN for your high quality Porsche items...I cannot say enough about the super customer service I've always received from him, always full of information and very, very helpful when dealing with super expensive items that he sells. All told the steering wheel including shipping from Belgium was $42 less than from FVD in the US. But trust me it was not inexpensive!

Here's a fellow pelican's pics of the steering wheel and a shot of the wing install more to come:

Those alcantra wheels are the best I've ever felt...specially on track days...

petri 08-04-2008 04:39 AM

You are having a serious rear wing there :D.
Yes, the suede (or alcantara) steering wheels is the only go for a track cars. The grip with a correct gloves is excellent and precise.

Reaper930 08-04-2008 04:55 AM

Thanks Petri, the wing is 178 cm (70 inches) wide...and the body is still wider!!! I estimate the total width to be 75" wide from the outside of the driver's rear wheel to outside of the passenger's rear wheel.
