The deep endplates will increase downforce on the car for a small drag penalty without increasing the size of the wing.

Nice little read here.

Gabriel, how are your black beauty developing?
I just spent a week pushing my Green in Ring for fun: multiple relatively easy below 8 minute BTG times in heavy traffic during "touristenfahrt" , so I decided to try to find private track times or opportunities in future in Ring to feed the growing interest of mine for serious time attack: I found fast paced driving in growd a sort of non-responsible act even if being safe and precise with my own driving behaviour and even if everybody is on the track by their own free will. I found the speed differences growing quite high now when īthe Green starts to be ready to race.
Also full lap times would be so much more valuable for me to have: a knowledge what is capable of to be done with Green ;) Let us hear and see what is going on with your black beauty?

She's coming along nicely - having Zuffenhaus fix some of the issues that the past shop couldn't handle.

So far she's got coilovers at all 4 corners, ride height is set for this bodywork and the rear quarters were trimmed and will be reshaped to allow the 29" diameter tires to do their thing.

They've been sorting a drain in the electrical system and a few other gremlins...we're running her for the Turbopalooza event in 13 days so there will be much video and pics at that time

Wow! I love the last photochop. I can't wait to see it in a couple of weeks.

Here's an idea... How about doing a replica of the Martini car shown, but do everything in gloss black, dark grey, and medium dark grey on your flat black. Sick!

or Weltmeister livery in black vinyl on the satin bodywork? ;)

David 06-11-2009 04:27 PM

When's this beast going to be back in Houston?

Reaper930 06-12-2009 04:09 AM

Keith has it nailed - :) i've been thinking about this for some time but he really pulled it off with his pshop.

We'll look into the graphics when we finalize the project.

David - I'm looking at having the car down in Htown on the 30th of June.

But Gabriel: I can see clearly what you are up to! And I agree with your choices! The rear will really do the 935 thing to happen. You are already so far with the finishing quality in your car, that why not to go all the way...

My dream to have also an ultimate Porsche Club racer 935-77 works replica with this -76 Le Mans engine from my Green, and then to have Green equipped with 993 twin turbo with sequential box (Hollinger or Ricardo) to make my more modern looking Green more up to date to drive. And then really make respect for the engine I'm using now in Green in a sort of "not correct" environment.

Do you have already source from where to get or fabricate the rear part you are thinking of?

Reaper930 06-13-2009 02:50 AM

The rear panels are being hand worked by Zuffenhaus for the time being.

Sounds like quite the plan you have there for your cars :D

Gabriel, I look forward to watching you run your car at CMP at the end of the month. My race car is at Zuffenhaus getting some major work done so while I have been there checking on my car, I have seen the recent progress on yours. Your car looks really bad ass and the guys at Zuffenhaus are doing a great job to finish up the rest of the important details. I bet you are REALLY going to enjoy driving that beast!!!

By the way, CMP is a great track and I think you will really enjoy it. I made it there for three race weekends last year and I loved it. I was hoping my car might be ready by the end of June, but there are just too many details to finish so my car won't be ready in time. However, I do look forward to meeting you and watching you "drive your car like you stole it" for the first time!!!

Jeff

Jeff,

Thanks for the kind words, judging by your avatar that's one hell of a compliment :). Finally after 2 years I'll get the chance to have some fun with her - and I can't thank Aaron and Keith enough for jumping through hoops to get her done on time.

It will be great to see your racer and meet you in person, I'm really looking forward to the weekend.

Marshall Law 06-14-2009 07:29 AM

Since the avatar pictures are so small, I am attaching a slightly bigger picture of my race car (shot last year at CMP) . . . and a sneak peek at just some of the very nice work that Zuffenhaus is completing on it.

Verrry cool! Are those 19" e50 rims in the back there? :) Love the paint and the low roof - that is absolute sex on wheels!

What is the powerplant?

Marshall Law 06-14-2009 10:04 AM

Glad you like it!! The wheels are BBS Motorsport 17" diameter. They are 9.5" wide in the front (running 245s) and 12" wide in the rear (running 315s).

Regarding my engine, unfortunately, I am running a very mild engine at the moment. It is a 3.4 liter normally aspirated engine running an Electromotive TEC-III and the TWM injector stacks that currently only produces 250hp to the rear wheels. There is the possibility I can pick-up some more horsepower with some better tuning but I haven't yet spent the time to find the right tuner to give that a shot. This is my first 911 so I guess the mild engine is giving me some time to try to learn to drive a 911 before I swap out the engine for something with a bit more kick.

I have attached a picture of the NASA race that I ran at VIR in July of last year to show the difference between the normal 911 roof line versus my chopped top. That photo was shot at the beginning of lap #1 of the race coming out of turn 1.
