Anyone running Zeitronix?
Anyone out there running Zeitronix on there 911/930? I like the fact that the ZT-2 can monitoring Air/Fuel ratio, Boost, EGT, RPM datalogging up to 9 hours of data..
Also curious to see if anyone has mounted the LCD display in a 911 and where it was put. Some of my friends with riced STI's and Balls out Supra's swear by zeitronix and have no complaints other than the boost sensor costing $100. When comparing both systems I am leaning more towards Zietronix and with being able to display 4 outputs this scores pretty high for me but I know from reading this form that LM-1 wins the popularity contest. If anyone has expierence with the Zeitronix in a 911 please post your comments. Zeitronix ($399 with display): http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm LM-1 ($349+plus $589 for the Aux Box ): http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/lm1.php |

We are running the Zt-2 on several turbo/supercharged cars
and I like them a lot, quality and support is great. I want to put one in my 930, but still the exhaust is not ready. The display I plan to put on top of center console. One big advantage of the ZT-2 is a programmable relay trigger and alarm beeper. For example at 4000rpm and 0,4 bar a relay can be switched. A boost solenoid can be switched with this. Or above 5000rpm and above 14 AFR alarm will beep or flash. Falk

I've been running one for about 2 years now, and really like it. The readout fits nicely in the stock ashtray opening.

Coupled with a Brian Leask WUR...I think I will be pretty well tuned. I don't know exactly what Zeitronix has lined up but I asked them about a round gauge (that might fit in the clock area) and they told me wait until SEMA. ![]() So next week I should know where I want to take it. I was looking at Innovate but after reading their forums, I wasn't impressed. They have a product that claims to have the configurable triggers (multiple) but the actual product doesn't support the features advertised/in the manual. No time frame as to when they will either. No first hand experience though.

Problem I see with the round gauge is that it will only disply Air/Fuel which is the same for Innovate but if you use the LCD you can display 4 parameters all together and from what my friends have told me the boost is very acurate.
Falk/Winrice, can you guys take some pictures on where you have the LCD? I have a 993 lower dash so I am not sure if the size's are the same |

Thanks Winrice, I will need to check my 993 lower dash and see if it will fit there. Did you purchase another MAP sensor to measure the boost or did you tap into the stock on?

Even when I go EFI I'll still keep all the Zeitronix equipment separate, just to have a redundant logging system.

Yea I was thinking the same thing, I was just under the impression that the ZR-1 would be the newest and greatest thing from Zeitronix. If there is more than this than I should hold off on my upcoming purchase

Just for your info, the ZT-2 displays measurements:
5x2x1 inches. Falk

As Sema is over, I can tell that Zeitronix
released the new ZR-2 display. Its a round display like the above, but you can display for example AFR on the outer LEDs and either boost/EGT/AFR/TPS/ or a user def. input with the digits. I try to get a picture and more details about the function. Falk

Its a "small" gauge, 52mm.
You will need a spacer to make it fit in the clock position. Falk

Not bad, but curious on how you switch between different modes. I do not see any buttons or switchs on the bezel or face of the guage..

I'm thinking that gauge may be a bit too busy for the austere Porsche interior.
Other than boost, I doubt I would be checking them regularly. Just some tuning runs logged and then an occasional checkup. I sure would like a pillar mounted gague pod. Why can't someone make one?!?!?!?!? ![]()
