Brian, I just wanted to post a thanks for the work you have done on your exhaust systems and how that work has improved my satisfaction with my car. Your labor generated a wonderful experience for me this Saturday and hopefully for a long time to come.

Saturday was the day I picked up my car after a fresh rebuild and some modifications including your headers. Because it is a fresh engine, I cannot separate the improvement to just your headers, but the shop could. They could not remember when they had seen such an improvement in low end performance as well as the overall drivability. They could have taken all the credit and I might not have known. Instead, they were really impressed with your work. I will also add they regularly install B&B headers, so I expect most of their rebuild experience is with that product.

Outside of the performance end, the sound is terrific! It sounds like an Indy car when I go under an overpass or a wall that reflects the sound. Too much fun. The only problem is it attracts Mustangs and Civics. They all want to hear more.

Keep up the hard work Brian! I will soon need something else for the car.

Stephanie, I didn't notice you got a 930. Congrats!!!

My wife drives my 930 sometimes. She often comes back with a kill story. Oh well, it's her license.

Mine are being installed right now - I'm totally pumped, it sounds from other's experience that it will be transformed! FYI...baseline dyno run has been posted on the dyno thread, and I will be following up with a post install dyno run.

Thank you Stephanie! I wouldn't do it if I didn't love it.
I took my Turbo out for a drive tonight after fixing my car lift. There is nothing like quiet cool night air. I put the windows down and soaked up the sounds. The equal length headers really do sound great! A tuned smooth sound like the engine could rev endlessly. My god the wail it makes on boost! I've got to get this on YouTube so others can hear it. I actually find myself tooling around at 1500rpm every now and then just because I can, ha! It is so deceptive that Jeckle/Hyde quiet idle.

Funny you call it a Jeckle/Hyde idle. the license plate says Mr Hyde. I Constantly get asked what does that mean?

Jeckle/Hyde is a good description for how these things behave. You truly have both worlds.

Scott I should have the prototype heat exchangers in my hands next week. They then go on my car for testing. Once approved we'll laser a bunch of them. I have a ton of orders to fill as everyone who has bought headers wants a set. Will post pictures of course.

Does anyone else here think that the HE versions might even perform even better than the normal headers since they are going to insulate the exhaust pipes more? Seems like you would get the benefits of an 'exhaust wrap' as a side benefit of the additional metal...

Depending how you look at it, it could be worse with all the fresh air in the HE's taking the heat away. Now if you blocked the air from the fan to the HE..........

Heat exchangers

Bolting together the prototype heat exchangers today. These are what the end result will look like, the only changes left are to tighten up the gaps and position the screw holes. I may add metal tubes that attach to the stock heat ducts or just use longer heat ducts. That decision will come when I bolt these onto my car.
So far this has been extremely easy. I'll let you know if that continues when I bolt them onto the bottom of my functioning engine. Whatever needs to be changed will as these must bolt on pain-free. The material is aluminum so they will bend fairly easy to allow some forgiveness as the headers are hand built and not exactly identical.

Focus? I'm currently working on a half dozen projects, this is as focused as it gets, ha!

Installing these on my car was simple, took maybe 10 minutes. There are only 4 pieces to the exchanger and they wiggle in place pretty easy.
Hose adapters will be next.

No there is a line formed. Just about everyone who has bought a set of headers wants exchangers as well.
There are only a couple minor changes to be made so shouldn't be long now.

Just got word that my headers went 400HP on a stock engine with 964 cams and K27HFS turbo.
Shop replaced a set of brand X headers with RarlyL8 headers and replaced the brand Y muffler with a Zork tube. Boost threshold fell 1000rpm, mostly due to the restrictive brand Y muffler.
I don't have any more info other than the shop was expecting 350HP and is thrilled!
