Latest Project - Headers
I've been wanting to do this for a loooooooooong time. Decided that I will never have the time unless I just take it.
So I did. If all goes as planned you may see these in our gracious host's catalog some day. Lots of to do before the project gets to that point ... The guidelines are simple: - short equal length primaries - short equal length secondaries - 321 stainless (no 304 for turbos) - try to clear stock oil lines - try to clear stock turbo sump tanks The equal lenght primary goal was successful with all pipes being 17" +/- 0.5" This is all I can do for now. I've got a lot of other work to complete. So I'll get back to it periodically and post results. All comments welcome as nothing is set in stone and group projects are always fun. As always I take no credit for welding, that is Ben's area of expertise. ![]()

Great project.
Can you design one set of primaries/collector that you can just bolt to each side so you do not have to make up a left and a right? One going to the out side, on going to the inside? Then they can contact the the secondary to tie them together. ![]() |

I would be VERY open to buying a set...IF I could supply you with the collectors from Burns Stainless... I love their stuff... I also have my exhaust ports opened up, so I would need bigger flanges.... which i already have...would you care to tackle ????

Way to go Brian....and best of luck in your upcoming joint venture with Pelican. I am confident your product line will be a big hit....but I'm biased since I have some of your products already and can vouch for the quality, design, and build.

Brian- that is hot $hit right there- I am just angry because I am about to have a set fabbed this week for my car at a major cost. Had I known that you were going to do this I might have waited. Keep up the good work.

There is much to do before the tubes pictured above become a functioning system. My time is really stretched so this will be a late(r) nights project.
In the mean time I've got to install Ben's 993 system and the SSI system and do some dyno work.

Brian-
Echo'ing others - congrats on the (likely) joint venture with our host, that's quite exciting and well deserved. and whoa momma - that's some nice p*rn you posted up thar! I'd likely also be game when the time comes. Which is perfect really - as - the time is *certainly* not 'now' if ya know what I mean. I'll be keenly following your updates as they (slowly) develop. Would you provide an option for heat? I'm thinking I want to retain. Any projected price-point (range) yet? Just querious. Regardless - kudos, as usual. Hope to meet you in June / July heh heh heh 8-), until then keep up the good werk! |

Interested
Brian,
I noticed my brother's (turbobrat930) post above. I would also be interested but as you already mentioned, I would need for it not to change the orientation/location of the turbo and be able to use the oem drip tank so you have another person interested in your late night project. Costs... when you are able of course. Thanks, Bryan |

Looks really good and no doubt will not have the same fitment issues we see in some other branded headers.
Would be interested if came with heat also if possible!

Bryan: Have you got your car back together? I'm about ready for a run down your way when it warms up a bit more.
I just replaced the drip tank on mine...the elbow was brazed from a previous break and didn't hold....I bought a nice stainless one from Brian (Rarly).

There won't be any fitment issues, I guarantee that. No short term cracking issues either.
Yes heat exchangers will follow which is what I would really like to offer Pelican as a bolt-on for street cars. Let's get through the fab and testing first and see how she goes ... Should this item be added to my line and picked up by our host it will be priced to compete with others in the market. The goal is equal pricing with better quality.

Question
Brian,
Do you plan on using any additional structural support other than the factory turbo support bracket? How will the wastegate(s) be mounted/supported? Thanks, Bryan |

The secondary pipes will be connected to the collector via slip joint for the traditional single turbo application. I have an attachment point designed in but do not yet know if it will be needed.
