No first hand experience with that particular brand but the pics show me enough to walk away.

Do a search. There have been a lot of reported failures of this brand of header. Most issues involve stress cracks at the welds. I would also be very concerned at what I see inside. It looks sloppy and I doubt it was back gas welded. If any slag is left in the pipe and it comes free your turbo will not be happy. Walk away and contact Brian (RarlyL8 on this forum) and he will set you up with a proper set of headers at a reasonable price.

I appreciate the support but cannot touch that pricepoint. 321, backpurged welding, merge collectors, design detail, quality control and USA manufacturing simply are not compatible with Asian pricing.

I Will go into the pipes with a small cam (hd) to check the weldings and slag an make it clean. when i mount the header i Will check en fix stress. in the pipes it looks better accept the place where the turbo fits. i do not expect it Will live forever. with in two year i Will afford a special one, after a motor rebuild. I feel not cheated for this price. and there are people giving good comments for this header. but don't expect the world from this header. sorry for the bad spell,as i am a Dutch man... I will post the movie. Thanks for the comments ![]() Last edited by klefroid; 01-29-2010 at 12:40 AM.. |

That is a proper use for such a system in my opinion. If you add heat exchangers be mindful to not cover a welded joint. Probably don't need to tell you that but it is important.

No worries on the spelling. Good plan to use the cam and really inspect the headers well. I am interested in what you find so please post what you find.
Brian, I sent you an email regarding my headers.

The more I think about it I don't believe I would go to the trouble to modify, or any expense, to bolt up something I don't intend to keep. If you have a Euro exhaust now I'd leave it as is until you are ready for the upgrades. That $400 may be better spent somewhere else and is likely to grow into more $$$ as you address issues. Now if you just like fiddling with things that's a different story ...
Bill I did not get an email this morning, please re-send.

Good point Brian! This is why I was intending to leave my euro exhaust when I thought I was keeping my single turbo. I figured I would upgrade and spend the money on the twin setup as that was my goal.
Brain I re-sent to your yahoo address.

Someone recommended runnng a length of chain through the pips to remove any slag. And that O2 sensor location just before the turbo, DO NOT use it.

Those appear to be GSF (GoingSuperFast) headers/HE's which I believe are knockoffs of B&B headers.

yes. I took pics from their website. I thought they were just selling OBxs. Are the GSEs just as low quality??

Havent heard many good things about B&Bs so if these are knockoffs of B&Bs, I suppose that answers that..................... anyone have experience with these?

Have always thought the GSF headers was kind of OBX with heat?

I have the same headers on my car only schnele brand. They look identical , been on for 2+ years with no problem.I just wanted a cheap alternative to eliminate heat and weight at the time. When these fail I will upgrade to Brian's headers most likely. For what they cost they work fine.
