I saw that this morning sitting on the airplane,, got a chuckle out of it..
If you have to ask then you probably don't have the balls to own a 930..

I wouldn't worry about it, Brian. They'll have to catch you first before they can beat you up for that post.

You gotta wonder how anyone who has driven a 930 can even question which way to go.

with my modern EFI and tunable timing curves my car is light years ahead of how the car felt with the stock CIS and dizzy. I'll put my laggy 930 up against any of those N/A cars. The other night I murdered a late model mustang (modified but i don't know to what extent). Ask him how bad my turbo lag was

I have a confession.......... I 1st owned a 930 but im thinking of going to a 3.2 carrera, not getting rid of the 930 but just having a car that I can take my wife out in or hell listen to the radio or not get challenged by retarted kids in ricers. I think if you have one you will want the other side of the coin.

A stock 930 is not so fun. Modded is a different story ...

I can agree with that! I had a stock 79 930 and a 85 RoW Carrera at the same time. The Carrera was way more fun to drive. Had some other Porsches in between and then got the 86 turbo I have now and that car is phenomenal, way more fun than the 85. I'm waiting for the 80SC to be back on the road to see how that runs and I also have my eye on a nice 71. However, the 86 turbo is here to stay.

....Turbo lag means that a regular 3.2 Carrera is nearly as quick 0-60.....Turbos create a lot of heat, which cause engine parts to wear more quickly. 70K-80K miles on a turbo is pretty high, where on a normally aspirated 911, it's just getting broken in.....
What a bunch of bull$hit!!! The N/A guys are just pissed that they can spend $20,000 and still have less than 420 to the wheels. Brian- you missed point #11 on your list why not to buy a turbo: You like getting beat by kids in Hondas...

Well I guess we just need to say "To each his own" but from a personal perspective and not an "I've never driven or ridden in a 930 but I prefer ...."
I've had a 50 + year love affair with Porsche and have owned some of the best. 914, 914-6, 58 Speedster, 64 356 Cab, 912 SW Targa, 71 911S Targa with a 2.8 RSR crate motor, 73 911 RS Lightweight, 74 Carrera, 74 Carrera Targa, 10-15 SC's, 2 Late Model Carreras, 964 C4 Targa, 944 Turbo, 928, 928 S4, and the one and only "Old Sled" 930. I enjoyed every Porsche I've owned but the "Old Sled and I have been together for the last 22 years and I still find myself cracking open the garage door before I go to bed just to look at the old girl. One of the greatest joys of owning the "Old Sled" is taking an SC owner for a ride just to watch while they turn white and scream like a little girl. Cole
