Wheel size documentation needed

My new 930 (DonE's old one) is soon in Norway, and I am in the process of collecting documentation for the car to be registered.

I have a document from Porsche stating allowed wheel size for Porsche 911
195/65 R 15 and
215/60 R 15

205/55 ZR 16 and
225/50 ZR 16

205/55 ZR 16 and
245/45 ZR 16

My new car has Fikse FM10 8.5 x 17 and 10 x 17 wheels

Anyone has other documentation stating 17'' as allowed on these cars?
If so send me a PM and I will send you my e-mail address.

The car has 993 TT callipers.

Will original Turbo 16'' Fuchs fit with this calipers?

16's will not fit. You'll need 17's.

Ok, then I will need a document that states this wheel size for this car if I get problem at the DMV control.
If not I will have a problem register the car :-(

I'm not sure you'll find documents other than sales info on websites.

You can always take a 16" wheel with you and say, "look, it doesn't fit"!

Aren't you allowed to register it with bigger wheels and tires if they fit without trouble? I did that without any problems with 17 inch and 315 wide tires. They just checked for no rubbing. All I had to do is install clear parking lights (day time lights).

Only TUV approved gear such as mirrors, wheels, etc. are allowed for inspection.
Sorry to tell you this Trond but the 930 was not offered 17" wheels OEM, only 16". There are no 17" OEM Fuchs.
There are however 17" Aftermarket Fuch's made with 16" centers that still carry the OEM "16x7" stamping.

That's a tough one. It could have been Denmark. We are just as stupid in DMV matters like this. Everybody knows that the "inspection equipment" will be removed ASAP after the inspection, but doesn't matter: "It's the law."

I am assuming that you know the rules 100%.
Some times in DK if you can argue that the total width of the car does not increase do to the aftermarket wheels, and the overall wheel radius does not increase over a certain percentage, you can actually slip through the inspection.

Good luck

Jesper

That's how it's in Finland too. One inch bigger dia and 4in wider can be fitted without any trouble if no rubbing or increase in cars width. Even bigger dia is doable but have to be registered.

IIRC swedes have it much easier and somewhat car owner friendly laws.

I got pulled over by police a few years ago because of the car being targeted for speeding and racing. Like a prevention thing.
Anyway, i had on 17" and also lowering springs which were not registered ofcourse. I could get documentation on the lowering springs but the wheels did not need that i was told. It depends on the roll diameter and if it affects the speedo. The inspector tried to push down on the front wing to check clearance (proper way to do it!) and when it didn`t move he was pleased. I had yellow Konis too Mind you this was a Toyota Corolla G6R 2000 mod.

I don`t know if the corolla is approved to have 17" but i had no papers on that. This is Norway so i can only say good luck.

What about this? Fikse Wheels - Classic The last paragraph states Fikses are TUV approved in Germany for Porsche. Would that suffice for your country?

Or you could borrow a set of original calibers, put them on, get the car registered and switch back to 993 TT calibers and 17" wheels.

Best Regards

Thanks guys.

Well I have a friend here with '66 911S turbo widened that has 17'' stamped in his document, so there might be some way around.

I also heard back from DMV regarding the TÜV documentation I sent them that came from the Porsche Importer In NOrway, and they accepted it :-)

Will see if I have to deal with the wheels later.

Jesper, this would be my last attempt. Hope I will not have to go there. Need then to replace rotors as well, since they also are 993.
