Back from the dead
Not to high jack the thread but Roland hinted awhile back about some parts . Well after I got the pins out of my hand after another surgery (4th in 2 years) I got back on our little project . Had to test out the latest mold I made to see if it would fit this time . http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1446529031.jpg
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1446529060.jpg I'm working on the other side now and I think I still have your address  Kozmo SmileWavy |
Hey KozmoSmileWavy
Nice to hear from you. Those parts are nice looking! Is there any space to the brake disc? Seems to be very close, but maybe only the pic... |
Going to make a small adjustment , the back side area is a little tight but the front side is good . Trying to move the wrap around inlet hose for clearance with a slotted mounting bolt hole so it is tight . But for the first one out of the mold it is very good start . Looking forward to seeing them on your car , the weight is next to nothing :D

Seriously I am very happy you on your effort to made some, I know how mutch work is behind tiny little ****ers (oops) like this. PS Did you know there is an automatic function censoring my F-Word? |
LoL... just about got a little material added in a few areas to loosen it a little , and your right about being a hitch

update possible...

Update as demanded
After long time thinking how to go on with heat /noise insulation in the engine bay, I decided to use cork as first layer. It is lightweight, has good damping properties, impact and airborne noise. Took a long time to find a good quality (not that floor house building stuff from Homeworker shops). The one I use is for railway wagons as damping material. Much smoother and finer pieces, self-adhesive for better aplication. To get an more even surface for the final layer of Aluminum coated FG I "filled-out" several slots with cork too.
Long story short said, not my favourite kind of work, difficult to transfer the 3D shape on the flat cork sheets... Here is how it looks right now: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1463940881.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1463940906.jpg |
Your precision is amazing

Proffighter, you have been away too long. Love your updates.

More pain in the a** work done, started floor insulation with 4mm cork. You won't believe, but none of those squares is equal or rectangular side to side:mad:
Progress so far: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1464878825.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1464878848.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1464878868.jpg |

Looks great!

Always beautiful work, Roland! That's so attractive, I'd be tempted to not run carpet or floor mats. :-)

I see one piece where you are off by 1mm! Great work, as always.

Here an example why (together with other things) it takes that long to make progress. As I wanted to improve insulation especially at the tranny tunnel, I made a 4mm thick peace here. Taking measurements and making a cardboard "tester" took 2 hours! Another 30 minutes later, it's mounted:

Holy crap that's clean!
|
WOW great work !
good you are proceeding |
