Fitting Restrictor

I bought the fitting restrictor for a AGP/Garrett T Series Twin Ball Bearing turbos. It has the properly sized oil restrictor built in. The threads are 7/16-24 Inverted Flare.

The PT has orginal a oil feed restrictor, they say you don`t have to remove it.
It has a 1/8" NPT female thread, so I had to modified the thread.

I bought a 1/8" threading iron to make it fit.

930/66, run it with an unrestricted AN fitting first and see if you have drain/smoke issues, and if not leave it as is. If you DO, then gradually restrict it down (we use nitrous jets in a machined male AN fitting) until it is happy. The restrictor fitting you have is for GT water cooled turbos - The only cooling media your turbo will have is the oil feed, let it have all you can get away with.

moty, those gold restrictors usually have an .035-.040 hole

On my PT 67/66 I did not need to modify although it is, I left everything of origin!

Yes X2. Precision will tell you NOT to restrict the oil feed to that turbo in any way. If you use a -3 feed line that will take care of the restriction unless your oil pressure is insane. Factory 930 scav pump will deal with quite a bit. That factory 3LDZ setup with its old school one piece turbine shaft bearing had nothing but fitting size restricting oil flow.

Just as a PS, if you end up with a smoke issue only on startup, don't restrict anything. Put low popoff pressure check valves in the feed and drain (after the accumulator tank if you have one) lines so that oil doesn't gravity feed or backflow into the bearing housing after the engine is shut off. This is a common issue that makes people "put a bandage on their elbow for a sore on their knee" so to speak.

Looks good, good luck with it!

930/66, I just wish to warn(prevent) you to be very careful at the time of the tightening not to turn(shoot) more the basic join, in factory he(it) is squeezed(tightened) in a precise couple. One of my friends with fact this error.
