Using Wayne's book as a guide, I built a 3.2ss in six months. It shouldn't have taken that long but I had a proper *****storm on my hands. Had to pull all the lines and coolers and resprayed the engine bay while I was in there. Newbie in need of help. 3.2ss build has gone sideways!

[QUOTE=shoooo32;10755746]... while I was in there. THIS seems to be the #1 reason why ANYTHING takes longer than expected. In all honesty, I went from taking the engine out to do a complete rebuild, to now also refreshing the rear suspension, since its easier to get to everything.... and so on, and so on.

Took me about 2 years. I sent the short block to a pro and got that back in about 3 months. It’s the cleaning, reading up on what to do, double and triple checking my work, deciding what level of finish I wanted, waiting to replenish the bank account, combined with life that makes it drag out. Did I mention cleaning? On level of finish, I had the fan and engine tins powder coated and am very happy I did that. The rest was elbow grease. The short block and oil cooler were professionally cleaned.
