Porsche Crest head stud qurstion??????

I have the engine out. I'm replacing the clutch, and all the seals that I have access too, including the rocker shaft seals, which by the way were leaking like crazy. Anyway, I found one broken lower head stud. The engine is out but not totally apart. The engine was defiantly rebuilt, because of the engine sealing used all over the inside. too replace or not? That is the question?

If you were one of my buddies here in the North East I'd tell him to run it easy this fall and rebuild it this winter. (We've got a month or two of driving weather before 6 months of winter.)
As you probably know, seeing sealant "all over the inside" is not the sign of a knowledgable rebuilder.

Sorry about the results of your inspection. You are looking at a top end rebuild. Not sure what you mean about the sealant on the inside, but I would want it to be correct once completed. Sounds like you have the skills to do some of the work. How many miles since the heads were reworked? You may want to have them dissassembled and the valves/guides checked out. PNC may be in spec.

Good luck.
